Be warned they have also upgraded the Isuzu engine which is not as good as the old version. Friend of mine run a fleet of 30 plus isuzu. Bought some of the latest models recently. Engine are packing up on there new lot. Some have been replaced completely under warranty.
    Just food for thought.

OK. Appreciate all the input and the deals now done... MU7 it is...
Delivered last Wednesday and has been out on day tours every day since.
Certainly handles differently to the Honda Civic...immediate benefits are the better view because it's higher off the ground and nice big side windows which my clients appreciate...also it's quite plush inside and the second row of seats - which will be used most of the time - are very comfortable with heaps of leg room...

Hopefully it will prove to be a good choice!...some more details here...

Timely bump this thread... I think it was in here somewhere I was talking about getting a Camry or an Accord for my Co. car and joked that I'd probably wind-up getting a Vios instead.

Yeah well, looks like I am getting a Vios!

^ Poor sod. Just put some numbers on the doors and take it racing at Bira on the weekends.

P.S. I would not be seen dead in a Vios.

^Nothing settled yet, boss was just talking about getting onto ordering car for me shortly and dropped into the conversation mention that he brought a Vios for his folks while they're here (leaving soon).

I saw where the conversation was headed so kept quiet. Obviously I'd prefer the Camry but end of the day it's still a 'free' car so can't complain...

    ... Did that sound convincing?

Had a ride in one of those Kia Carnival people carrier things the other day. I was well impressed. Loads of room inside and really comfy.

Glad to see you're happy with the MU7 thingy though.

    Nothing wrong with the Yaris/Vios.

Been driving the Yaris for a week now and it is great fun in the city. Nips in and out of traffic and leaves larger vehicles like pick-ups behind in city traffic.

They have the instrument cluster in the centre which is cool, and they are deceptively roomy for a small car. Plenty of room in the driver's seat even for 6 footers. The 1.5L engine has flat spots though, and I find the front wheel drive to be too light for steering especially when accelerating.
Minor gripes though, certainly not the best small cars I've driven but functional, modern and fun.

I don't disagree - all kidding aside I'd be happy enough with a Vios. In my situation it's more of a perk than a neccesity anyway. But still, if I do have the choice...

Found the same with the wifes City that she had. Heaps of headroom in particular and not completely uncomfortable with 4 adults in it.

^True Ant: I started with a City and it was fine...then moved to a Civic which I was really happy with...probably wouldn't have changed if it wasn't for the tours...

Nice. Please post photos of the interior so we can see what Camry, Vigo and Corolla interiors may look like in 5-7 years time, if we are lucky enough!

I doubt they would put leather into the Corolla.

I was talking about the switchgear, instruments, styling etc.

Toyota use the stuff from older Lexus models and put it into later Toyota models. Clever people, those Toyota boffins.

Oh, and leather is optional in the Corolla and standard in the fully optioned models here in Thailand.

Actually pretty common these days for cars to be generous in spec. My GF's civic which is faster than Tud's GF's Yaris, comes with all the nice goodies.

I don't like leather seats in humid climes. Clammy in air-con and sweaty on the arse.

I will take some pictures to show you how nice it is (in other words to brag). I can tell you so far, Slayer sounds really good with those 14 speakers.

To bring you up to date. The modern executive vehicles come equipped with airconditioning venting thru the seats. Thus what you term "sweaty arse" keeping it cool and dry.

And there are small holes in the leather for the venting. And probably for the farts too.
