I doubt there is much mileage in this 'scandal'. OK, if it is the case that she has inflated her expenses it does erode her credibility as an anti-corruption reformer somewhat, but I doubt many votes hang on this particular issue.
Lets face it, if you've had an expense account, well who hasn't fluffed their expenses a little bit?
The big Issue Sarah is facing is Troopergate. Her credibility as a presumptive VP and potential Pres in waiting is shattered if she did in fact improperly remove an Alaskan government Commissioner- indeed, in these circumstances I fail to see how she could be allowed to continue as VP if the investigation is concluded after the election, and the GOP wins (doubtful imo
). One to watch- and perhaps it explains what seemed to me inordinately good odds in the betting market that she would be withdrawn from the VP nomination.
