| i read an analysis of the speech which I think summed up mccain's effort quite nicely....
it was a valedictory speech, not the acceptance speech for the beginning of a presidency.
kind of like the speeches given by aging actors when they're given 'life time achievement awards' before they die. they were never able to win one on merit, but their colleagues feel sorry for them as they get close to death, so they're thrown a bone. |
