Mrs. Chi Takes Me To Rossano's Italian Restaurant For My Birthday

Mrs. Chi wanted to do something special for my birthday a few days ago. Her plan was to take me for one of those dinner cruises on the Chapraya river, but the rain prevented it.

Instead, she chose Rossano's Italian Restaurant and I was quite pleased!

Rossano's is located at 167 Sukhumvit Road (Asoke) in Bangkok. Their phone number is 02-260-1861 and their website address is ItalianRestaurantBKK.com

Rosanno's is realtivley new to Bangkok as it has only been open 10 months.

There is plenty of parking and also a nice garden in front of place. There are tables outside if you prefer that sort of thing.

It was a bit muggy that night, so we decided to dine in and enjoy the air conditioning. Of course it was the Chitown curse and we had just arrived at opening time and the air was off. After I mentioned it to the satff they turned it on for me so worries about that!

The place is well decorated and clean and the most importantly the staff is trained pretty well. The place napkins in our laps, kept our drinks filled, kept checking on us and cleaned any little crumb that fell on the table.

This is a pic of the dining room. Not sure why the color turned out like it did, but you can at least see what it looks like.

For an appetizer, we ordered grilled imported Italian sausage with sauteed broccoli. Normally I hate broccoli, but this was delicious.

Don't let the pic fool you. The plates are huge and the staff had brought it out and served onto our plates for us!

Don't forget a few rough prices Chitown, you might be shocked but for some of us it matters.

(especially for Timber who is checking out the competition!)

Mrs. Chi really enjoyed her imported Italian sausage, so for the main course she had the same sausage with classic Italian rice with saffron. I tired it and it was tasty. She enjoyed the staff grating fresh Parmesan and black pepper for her as well.

My meal was a ricotta and potato homemade dumpling dish with walnuts and a Gorgonzola cheese sauce.

Actually it was not too bad. 1600 baht with the tip. We also split a chocolate berry mousse for desert.

It can be pricey however. I went their with two friend last month and the bill was upwards of 7000 baht. The tow guys that I was with have huge appetites though.

That food looks great, I'll have to take Miss Timber down there sometime. 1600 for all that sounds like a good deal. Thanks for the review. Btw Happy Birthday!
