Looks like a clean kill to me. See the red dot on the carcass above the right front joint (look down from the boy's red hood ties). That is the exact spot to aim for -- goes right to the lung and kills the animal instantly. Obviously they did the blood letting (ie cut the throat after the animal is dead) at the kill spot and gutted him and then brought it by snowmobile to be carved up (no blood on the snow, eh; also keeps the wolves away if they move the carcass). Much more humane than leading the cows up through the slaughterhouse that provides your pack of steak at Tescos.
