Thread: Will speaking Arabic kill the Messiah?

I just learned Barack Hussein Obama speaks fluent Arabic.
Now there isn't really anything wrong with that other than the fact he seems to be hiding it.
We know George W. Bush speaks excellent spanish. He was quite proud of this talent and often spoke spanish in public.

Seems like BHO is a bit ill at ease with his Arabic background. Why is that? He should be proud of it, no?

According to the clip the evidence that Obama is fluent in Arabic is that he went into the office of some geezer who works for the New York Times and recited the Islamic call to prayer. I can recite the Refuges & the Precepts - that doesn't make me fluent in Pali.

I wish that more national leaders could speak a variety of important languages. It would instill more confidence that they actually knew what they were doing and that they could relate to others.

I agree it's a plus for the President to speak a foreign language. GWB's ability to pop off in spanish is an asset and he is proud of it.

I suspect he's not admitting it because of the reaction he knows that it would cause. You and I might find it unremarkable that he attended an Islamic school or has connections in Kenya but can you just imagine what Fox would do with it?

If Obama is fluent in Arabic, it could be one of the greatest steps forward in American influence and, possibly, world peace and security. Whay would one shirk from that?

Its kinda ironic that (many, not all) Americans seem to be happier with a President who is prepared to go around shooting people rather than one who goes around talking to people - and even more - shock horror! in thier own language!
