Given enough time, and a little effort, you can find most things that you can get at home. Fish and Chips at The Ship in Sukhumvit 23 are pretty good. Aussie pies [with plenty of sauce of course] in Sukhumvit 55 soi 7 and Sukhumvit 7/1 at The Down Under Bar [of course].

The problem with things like shaving cream and vegemite is that it is expensive and the cans/jars are small. I get friends on holidays to ferry in stuff from Oz. Simple. Always someone coming out here for a holiday.

Nice to see a couple of healthy fruits in there to offset the grease. Sounds good.

^ same as black pudding but without the blood as a constituent. In Scotland it is also known as mealy pudding, made with suet, oatmeal, onions and spices, meat is not a necessary ingrediant.

I'm now craving Thai mangoes. The crap here has no taste at all. Also had some laichees the other day, also tasteless. The blueberries and rasberries are good tho.

That has summed it up in one line!
Luckily I'll be home next month for a wedding so that list will be the first meal.

Also, a fish supper from Anstruther, best chippy in the world! Queues out the door EVERY night. (well, it's been a few years, hopefully the same)

Indeed. What happened to it? That place was the excuse to nip down Cowboy way and have a feed and a perv. About 5/6 years ago the staff inside became the most unpleasant of bitches and the quality of food plummeted. What's the present consensus, as I will be in Bangkok one night next week and I'd love a fish & chip supper with mushy peas?

House of Pizza?? You from Chicago?

As for the Chinese food. Yes a good take out or buffet Chinese restaurant is missed.

Onion rings with thick batter or a blommin' onion from a steakhouse would be nice.

ET & the other couple who mentioned it:

I can get Lorne sausage here. A company called Hua Hin Ham Bacon & Meat Co makes it. Approx 30 bt per square. Very good & authentic. Wonderul in a bap or softy.

They also made Scotch pies, but stopped for some reason.

BTW, I'll add missing butter rolls (Aberdeen butteries)
