| my government kills humanely or without cruelty or unusual punishment (poisoning). another government simply allows the person to me killed by the methodology that is quickest or most deligtful to the agrieved. still another allows for public and gruesome methods in which the public can participate in the killing.

we in the west like our state sanctioned killing sweet and socially palatable. so we spend years while the convicted awaits a real verdict as to sentence -- that is very often rooted in the socio-economic status, race and gender of the convicted. and if we kill'em we do it clean, careful and with a nice protocol.
with respect to texpats point above -- he is correct, they are not the same. i am referring to the taking of life subsequent to law of whatever land we are discussing. |
