Quite frankly I'm amazed at the number of people who refuse to condemn a religion that condones this type of thing.

There's a marked difference between condoning something and calling for balance and perspective. I haven't seen anyone in this thread condone anything?
Just because you object to the use of gross generalisation and using the one brush to paint everyone doesn't mean that you condone anything.

If it IS such a minority of muslims that condone the atrocities (give me a percentage) then why aren't the huge majority up in outraged arms about it.

They are. Funny thing about that though; headlines shouting out about a minority of Muslim radicals sells more papers than words of temperance from the majority.
And it's a strange position to be in as well - who else is expected to issue blanket aplogies for the actions of others? Should we expect all Catholics to apologise profusely for every instance of a pedophile priest abusing a child? Should all Southern Baptists be accountable for the words, actions, and deeds of some ignorant racists? Where are their apologies?
