As you might know that I am a Muslim. I don't approve of such barbaric ways. I don't even approve of capital punishment. I have had more interactions with Muslims than you and can assure you that most of them do not approve of it.

Christians did so did the Jews. It took them long time to get rid of such absurd laws. Fingers crossed the minority Muslims who practice this will soon give up.
"Change" is a process and it needs some time is all I can say.

Again, lack of education in some parts of Muslim world. You should not
generalise.
We all learn from our past mistakes. Christians learned it, I am sure a handful of Muslims who practice this will learn too. Give it some time.
