Thai labels on Farang food!!!

I am - for the first time in my life , trying to reduce weight ! ( Mods- please delete any sarky comments from E.G.)
I have this little book that gives a calorific value for just about everything'
So using this I am checking that goes down my neck.
Veggies, fish and meat are all listed by weight so there is no problem .

If I want crackers, cottage cheese or just about anything imported from a supermarket I find that the section of the packaging that gives you the various values of the contents has a label in Thai stuck over it.
Now you can't stand there and pick the sticker off so you have to trust the "Lite" or "Low Fat" blurb !

Any ideas why the Thais stick them on ? They don't normally eat farang food from supermarkets !!

Ends up I get something labeled "Lite" and may as well drink a glass of melted butter !

Any suggestions to get around around this dilemma will be welcomed !
