Well it seems contracts have been signed, and in another 30 minutes or so I have to drive her to the bank to get some lovely cash from her, they renegotiated the price but it's still more than we were asking, plus she pays tax

^Well, it seems your wife has done some pretty good business for you. A few grand on food and hotels and you've made a mint.

What did I tell you, play everything the Thai way and it'll all work out in the end

Banks are closed now. Maybe they cranked him in the grape with a brick and made off with the chanote and the money -- and that sexy, red, eight-year-old Hyundai.

hmmm, still waiting got to admit I don't understand Thai banking, my main bank I use in my name lets me do 20k baht perday on the atm, my girlfriends one which I also use lets me do unlimited, well it may not be unlimited but it never told me to fok off yet, I had some money sent thru to my account last month to pay a large payment, thats when I found out mine was 20k baht perday, the company I was dealing with said you could change it to whatever by putting in your id or passport number and reset your limits, trouble is I have no idea how long I have had the account and which passport it was opened under, ie passport numbers change on each renewal, and I weren't gonna chance guessing 3 times and losing my card, that account all money, of which there is little I might add comes from overseas

Hmmm, went to the bank and he still has the money in his sweaty palm and not mine, well actually it's in his handbag, not the same as rigger uses cos he doesn't like pink, so on the way back I stop at my place to get the money and give them a reciept, seems they forgot the contract, so, what should we do, well basically they reckon we got 3 ghosts living in our tiny little front garden so it was time to get rid of them, I mean this is valuable drinking time and I got idiots waving their arms at our plants in our garden to get rid of the 3 ghosts, so now we got another meeting for the exchange in 30 minutes, how farangs ever expect to do business with Thais I have no idea......

As I sit hear with steam coming out of my ears I wonder why I even thought of doing business with Thais, the original deal was 1.2million, they pay the tax, 50k baht down and the deal has 60 days to run, contract drawn up and everybody agrees.

So off we go to the bank and he tells me he is going to put 100k baht down, don't make much difference to me what deposit he puts down as long as he completes within the time period, I am interested in the lump sum which is what I need.

Then we get offered a new deal 1 million baht, 100k tonight, 100k in 60 days, then the balance in maybe 30 days but maybe longer, I told erm to fok off, why the fok would anybody waste their time dealing with Thais in business, oh, and now he and she wants us to pay the tax, should mention the deal offer has gone down by 20 percent with that offer, fok me instead of driving them to the bank and then playing with foking ghosts I could have been doing something constructive, like drinking or wanking instead of wasting my time on Thai tossers. cnuts the lot of them....

I got to admit I am really foking annoyed about these Thai tossers, my mate is over from Hong Kong for his monthly vacation and I should have been going out with him tonight, but no, I turned him down cos of these Thai tossers, he's back to Hong Kong tomorrow so I missed him this month due to Thai timewasters, I employ Thais, I buy products from Thais, but dealing in business or selling them something is just a waste of time.

^I'm surprised you're not used to this by now. Maybe there's some hope left and they'll go back to the original offer--just testing you and all, you know.

Could you please refrain fom the use of the word "cnuts" or any derivative.
It appears to offend people unduly.

    Many thanks.

I fucking hate it when people fuck about on a deal.
In ten years I have found two shops in Phrae that have a trustworthy owner.
One's a computer shop and the other a car dealer.

The other 99% are a bunch of lying wankers

    Don't give up DD.

If they come back again just up the anti by 10% and based on the original acceptable "to you" offer. Something to gain and only a little bit of your time and sanity lost.

Shit. I've been there many times.
What really, really makes me go ape shit is when a family member shits on a deal and then I get told "Farang big problem".
It's never they fault, always mine because I won't give them the odd 100k.

Bollocks, I need a drink now just thinking about the past

Yeah, we are talking about a poxy bit of land that they agreed to buy, we done the deal then they changed the deal, I can't waste my time dealing with people like that, I mean if they don't want it at the price it is real easy for them to never contact me again, but fok me, I don't need these idiots giving me the runaround, I really do have a lot of work to do, and that don't include renegotitions etc.

If you speak to them again say that you are sorry and that you didn't realise that they didn't have enough money to buy it .

I said that to a thai bloke that was fucking around on a deal.
He went crazy. He drove round to show me all his cars personally.
He came round three times, once in a Benz S class, once in a Benz E class and finally in a Nissan MPV. It was fun to waste half his day and to see his red face .

I really cant waste my time with these people, it is a real easy decision to buy or not buy, they are trying to string the payments over 12 months or more, I don't need that, each deposit is valid for 60 days, so 10 deposits of 100k with 60 day periods, fok I would be an old man before I got all the money and then it would be worth treble that. Oky that weren't what they said, but i think that was the deal.

This kind of 'dishonesty' is a Thai cultural trait. it should be expected every time you deal with a Thai.

They believe there is nothing wrong with this kind of behaviour, and indeed if they can get away with it, that it was the right thing to do.

To a Thai, someone that doesn't lift a finger yet amasses a vast wealth through less than honest practices is more admired than someone that works hard every day for little reward.
The first guy is clever, while the second is stupid. Honesty and integrity are not that important when it comes to amassing wealth and status.

Different cultures, different values. It's no surprise 99% of Westerners cannot understand the cnuts.

Like I told you DD, spare room, feed them frozen pea soup (ok,defrost it first) and don't do deals with Thais.

I wish you'd listen to me more sometimes.

Had a problem when we bought our house. When we had put down the deposit and it came to 60 days they said they're new house wasn't ready yet and wanted to delay until it was. how long? dunno. My wife was 8 months pregnant at the time and i wanted to move in before she gave birth so she could help with the move. In a rare moment of bilingualism, i actually spoke Thai to tell them they bloody couldn't and with all the money we were paying them they can bloody rent a house until their house was ready. Amazing thing was they actually listened to me.
