Cripes, Bee Emms. Best take the Long Way down....
Well a few of us are off to Maha Salakham today, sun is out and the bike is polished, well sort of I see the wife missed a bit.
The guys from Salakham big bike are even putting on a bit of a do for us with a small pig on the spit and beers on ice.
I will take some pictures and do a bit of a write up. Well try atleast

Hooray. i finally got the front sprocket out but not after a bit of gentle grinding and a few litres of sweat pissed out.
Off to the tyre fitter tomorrow and maybe a good ride in the arvo before tackling the airbox. KTM is all set to go, just need some gao hah which will probably take me all day to find and give that a cane up the hills before it rains again.
Ah, It's good to be home and back in the shed again![]()
Fahn Cahn's
yea i got home on sat morn, went out to me lock up and got me babies, mind you the hd just cranked over, sitting too long and too cold, nothing that a good 500 k run won,t fix! down side is i gotta take the trumpy to work and its about 6degrees on the way home, i hope its nice and sunny on the weekend again, i need to defrost!

congrats, are you downgearing? -1, -2, how much?Originally Posted by Bung

Yeah, down gearing. 1 on the front and a couple on the back. It is way too high for me, it won't go anywhere near max revs in top so got a little room for some perking up down low. i got a set of standard cogs as well if I don't like it. Hope the chain fits or i will be back to standard. New tyres fitted today so I will sling them on in the morning and go for a spin.
Lucky you
I am at home making the wife’s life a misery after having some sweat gland things cut out from under my arm, stitches don’t come out for a week so no riding and now the wife tells me no alcohol.
Anyway I hope I can get on a bike for the weekend![]()
-1 by +2 rear should be the same as adding 4 to 5 to the rear which should make a huge differents.Originally Posted by Bung
I have done the same to the TLR it now red lines in top at 265 acording to the gearing program I am using. Speedo reads 285 at red line but thats bull shit anyway the TLR was way over geared for Thailands roads before, but now is hard keeping the front down in the first three gears and much morefactor

keep in mind by gearing it down. will create higher revs at crusing speeds. some are ok with it some not. also will hurt your fuel economy. Downgearing is really only applicable if your bike engine is a bit on the weezy side. As it does help with acceleration at the expense of topend. -1 +2 gearing is a fair bit and usually the combo is reserved for tracks rather than the street. A -1 on the front usually suffice for the streets.
Happy riding.
I wouldnt say my engine is weezy. I just dont see the need for such a hi top end. I changed the sprockets on mine and added a 1/5 race throttle insert, much better to ride with a bit of whooo yehaa hang the fok onOriginally Posted by Travelmate

I would like to that with my GSXR, can we get the parts in Thailand ??Originally Posted by Rigger
Impressive, but even my mother who is 78 years old can ride a bike fast on a straight road....Get the fokker on a curvy road, with cows , drunken Thais, pick-up trucks where stuff fall of right in front of you (ask Rigger). Ride the bollox of the bike there, then I'll be impressed...Originally Posted by Travelmate

The Thai guy with the ZX14 just ordered a new ZX10 as a track bike. bloody rich barsted. I havent ridden the newer ZX10 but have spent a few days on a ZX14 with a G pack, full race system and PC III. and loved itOriginally Posted by Travelmate
easy for the sprockets and chain but I think the race throttle may be harder. Let me check and see if the TLR race inserts fit a K4 which they may well do as many of the parts are the same.Originally Posted by Dalton
I am going to be in Korat on friday night if your around

There is already one been bought and soon to be converted to track.Originally Posted by Rigger

A shame really... The feeling after coming back from such a ride is amazing....How the fok did survive that...Originally Posted by Travelmate

I don't need the race-throttle, just the other parts..Originally Posted by Rigger
I live 125km east of Korat, are you gonna spend the night there ???

You would be suprised at how much differents a race throttle makes.Originally Posted by Dalton
well the guy brought in a suit case full of bike parts for me so I have to go down and buy him a bottle of whisky and help him drink it![]()
