Timber, on your shopping travels have you ever come across the bean fabes??
My family are from Asturias in Northern Spain and felt like cooking a traditional Asturian dish for the family but feel the ingredients maybe hard to come by here.
Do you know of anywhere which sells the beans and good Spanish Chorizo and morcilla?
I wont be there tonight but as I have the misfortune of knowing scampy he has told me many times I have to go there so expect I will soon

I don't know for sure if I've seen fabes, but surprisingly enough Makro has alot of beans. I'm sure they're around, I'll look for them when I'm making my rounds and let you know. You can get real Chorizo from any of the highend gourmet markets such as Emporium or Paragon food markets, TGM (Thai German Meat) puts out an ok chorizo, its cheap. I havn't seen Morcilla anywhere here, but all the ingredients are readily available in LOS and it seems pretty easy to make. I'd like to give it a try, if you let me know a few days before you want to come in I'll give it a shot.

That would be excellent, I think the mrs would love it as it has a bit of a spicy kick to it with the chorizo and morcilla. a nice few bottles of Rioja Crianza reserva would make it the perfect evening so I will hunt them down.

MTD, I thought the guy with no hair and glasses won that competition!

Thanks to all for coming in last night, I had a great time although my head is pounding today. I think hillbilly took some pictures to post. Sorry I didn't get around to taking any, I was a bit busy in the kitchen.

The meal was set for about 6pm. The only problem was were I lived out close to MinBuri was a little wet. The rains came at noon. It kept on coming and I thought, it's hillbilly food tonight.

    And it kept pouring down.

    And naturally this happened.

Eventually the skies cleared and by taking a taxi, in which we argued about a tree house, (don't worry, this will be discussed in another thread) 40 minutes later we arrived here.

Wow! The neighborhood is sorta of a hi-so Thai with a bit a of 'falangs' moving into the area.

Follow these guys and turn left. Well actually don't follow them wherever they were going. Turn left now!

This is what I saw the head cook doing when I first got to Timbers.

Upon arrival I was told to expect a 5-course dinner. Well, no shit I thought.

I had done many of these dinners before. Common sense says. 1. meat. 2. potatoe. 3.a veggie. 4. bread. 5. a drink. Put everything on a plate and there you go.

    A hillbilly 5-course dinner!

    Boy, was I wrong.

Usually, all the shots by hillbilly are done by me. However, I let the daughter loose from time to time and then this is what I get.

Now I know about salads. Hell, I fix them every weekend. However, my 9-year old daughter ate her salad and half of mine. And she hates salads...

We then had some onion soup followed by the fish.

I ate every single bite, dodging the forks of my family and MtD.

As luck would have it my battery died.

However, here is a shot of the chef and his lady sorta relaxing. Gabriel is her name and she is from a country far away. The dude in the lower right of the pic partied in my neck of the woods. Westport!!

Timber is from? Hell he can explain that himself.

However, take it from hillbilly. If you want to eat out of more than one plate then go to Timbers.

p.s. I paid for my own meal.
