^Actually good old Louis Armstrong for me. The lyrics changes were mine. Did KD Lang actually use those lyrics? Which song? I love KD.

^ I think it's from Miss Chatelaine.
..hold me captive just for a while....

^I absolutely love that song. I'll have to re-listen to it now. Hey, what's KD been doing lately? Any new albums?

I just bought her 2008 album, Watershed. Crikes, haven't even listened to it as I got it to play for a friend in hospital. I'm putting it on now and will let you know...
BTW, do you know what that song is about?

hehehe Nice, Norton. Another bush, perhaps.

I'd give a chicklette for a niglette. Nice word coin there, Norton. hehe

Dick Gephardt?
Wait, an old-timer over the hill, and too conservative, and sold out to Goldman Sachs.
Seriously, he is sort of the anti-Obama, and might be a good counterbalance.

Al Sharpton, if he can stay out of jail long enough

The VP experts, yes there are people who specialize in this say:
Obama, could pick a Washington outsider to supersize his change message, for example a governor like Arizona's Janet Napolitano or Kansas' Kathleen Sebelius.
The counter strategy is to select someone with offsetting qualities, in Obama's case a senior statesman such as Joe Biden or Chris Dodd, two longtime senators who unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for themselves this year
ABC News: Long List Before Short List for VeepJoel Goldstein, a professor at St. Louis University School of Law and an expert on vice presidents, said the choice of a running mate is more complex than it used to be. With the more expansive role played by vice presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney, "you can't pick somebody simply because they're going to carry Ohio or Florida," Goldstein said. "It's going to backfire."
Hagel is an independent thinker, and I like his views. I don't think he'll be chosen, but I think it would help if he was in the Purple states.

Nebraska Republican would have assets as Obama running mate, but …
Sen. Chuck Hagel, R- Neb., has been a harsh critic of President Bush's Iraq policy, but has a quite conservative voting record on issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage.

WASHINGTON - Were we looking at Barack Obama’s running mate, perhaps the next vice president of the United States on Wednesday afternoon?
You couldn’t help but wonder, as Sen. Chuck Hagel, R- Neb., showed up at the Washington think tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), to discuss his new book, "America: Our Next Chapter," before an audience of Washington insiders, business executives, and diplomats.
In the inside-the-Beltway scuttlebutt about Obama’s running mate, Hagel’s name comes up as do the names of such Democrats as Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, and a few non-politicians, such as retired Marine Corps Gen. James Jones, a former NATO commander.
Some Democrats think Obama would be smart to pick Hagel.
One veteran Senate Democratic staffer, speaking on condition he not be identified by name, called Hagel “the strongest pick Obama could make, particularly if he is serious about his ‘there are no red states, there are no blue states’ rhetoric. After eight years of division, it would be the most immediately healing gesture that Obama could make, as well as a gutsy, brilliant political move, too.”

sam nunn -- from the south, highly respected and strong on defense.
Not a chance.
He'll choose a woman -- he's soft and gooey like that. Besides he's heard about the free BJs in the Oval Office.
I heard he plans to disband the DoD as completely unnecessary.strong on defense

^ ahahahaha. I haven't heard that but sounds plausible.
I still like Richardson.
Hilly? Guess she's licking her wounds but did see her at Tim Russert's memorial today. Bless Tim. Apparently, John and Barack were sitting together in a pew yakking away and even hugged! Oh, dear.
The campaign will be just one big love in.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

Obama's decision earlier this week to hire Solis Doyle to be the chief of staff for his yet to be named VP has pissed off a few Clinton supporters.
Reaction from an unnamed Clinton insider:

If this keeps up the red team won't need to do much work to try and incite division withing the blue team. That being said it seems to me that there are still quite a few Clinton supporters that just sit around waiting for chances to pounce on Obama moves and then bitch. Still a bit bitter about Hillary not going to the mat (taking it all the way to the convention).
Oh, and this move seems to have led many to believe that Hillary is as good as marked off the VP list. If this is indeed the case would it behoove Obama to name his actual VP choice as soon as possible to give the blue team maximum time to bring Clinton supporters into the fold, or is it better for him to hold off until later?

Guessing game innit?
John Edwards, privileged southern white boy, so rich he'd take the pay cut, no ploblem?
Demographices as good as Hill's.
Maybe.
^I might switch my vote to McCain if Kerry was named VP. I hate that poser.
I'd say Hills is as good as gone. The dust is settled and many people have forgotten about her. Edwards would be a good choice, IMO.
Seems Obama's selection folks are narrowing down to either Nunn or Edwards. Both would work but Nunn IMO would bring the most to the campaign.
Obama is doing the right thing in breaking away from Hillary's obvious attempt in influencing his politics by using her support base as leverage. He still needs to work on getting her most ardent supporters (old white women) in his column but Hillary is now in the hot seat to make it happen. Should she fail, she will become a pariah in the party!Originally Posted by Bugs

I don't think BO will choose Nunn. Sam Nunn will be 70 in September, has been out of office for over a decade, and is not known that much nationally. Nunn also opposed gays in the military and supported school prayer.
