| ^^ I basically agree. Presidential contenders are not everyday normal folk, so why should they pretend to be so? Accuse them of being elitist, how terrible. Of course they're bluddy elitist, they're running for the Presidency.
Michelle's definitely humble beginnings, and subsequent achievements, might score a degree of empathy with some. As might Obamas growing up in a one parent family- although middle class really. Dunno- was this considered a positive factor in Bill Clintons election?
Or, conversely, was Bushes rather large silver spoon (both of them) considered a negative factor in running for Pres? You certainly could not accuse them of being normal folk.
