Additional info on the "farming" question. Apparently rice was farmed there on a consistent basis for many generations. The layers of remains and artifacts do give some time lines along with sediment layers etc. This indicates a yearly or periodic farming of rice.

The conclusion is it is the oldest (possibly challenged by the site in China) continuous farming known.
