I don't think so. Wanting to help or make a positive difference does not make you one of this stereotype you refer to- the Obamas are obviously anything but. Coming up with ideas and initiatives instead of the current policy vacuum is not a bad thing either.
Hers the simplistic line of reasoning I am seeing from the Right-
The Obamas are Black
They will therefore sympathise with other Blacks
So they will throw money at other Blacks
The White man will end up paying for it with higher taxes.
But the Blacks will remain just the same.
There are plenty of people out there that do not fit your narrow stereotype, and who better than them to provide leadership and a role model to those who do?
