    Yes.

The difference is I didn't produce a spittle-laced rant on National Radio (Air America) as that totally unhinged Randi Rhodes did. Have you seen the video? Pretty heavy shit...

Randi Rhodes has advocated assassinating President Bush and suggested that Mitt Romney's supporters are likely to commit mass murder.

This is good. Obama supporters are now booing the Pledge of Allegiance!

"At the mere mention of doing the pledge there were groans and boos. Then, when the district chair put the idea of doing the Pledge of Allegiance up to a vote, it was overwhelmingly voted down. One might more accurately say the idea of pledging allegiance to the flag (of which there was only one in the room, by the way, on some delegate’s hat) was shouted down."

Right...we now know who to vote for in November, eh?

^ Agree. The Pledge of Allegiance is a disgrace. Jingoism and political socialization of children. I did it in elementary school. We had to do it every Monday.

    Propaganda. nothing more; nothing less.

And by the way, The Stranger is kind of an alternative publication. I only read it once or twice, over 15 years ago.

Why rookies shouldn't run for President:

"I warned Democrats not to take the risk of placing their bets on a candidate that had not had to fight a national campaign against a real opponent.
    ...
Only a rookie would make a colossal blunder like calling Midwestern, small-town voters a bunch of bigoted, overly religious gun nuts...
    ...
What makes this so breathtaking is the mindless, casual way in which Obama reveals his snobbishness and elitism. We saw hints of this from Michelle Obama, in her assertions about never being proud of her country until her husband ran for President. We had not seen it from Obama himself in such a blatant and unmistakable manner. The matter-of-fact style in which he spoke this shows the unthinking contempt he has for people he has never engaged — an acceptance of stereotypes without questioning them that shows his own bigotry, not to mention foolishness and poor judgment.
    ...
It’s all the worse because it’s not a gaffe in the normal sense, but a revealing moment that shows how Obama really views Americans. With this statement, it’s not hard to understand why he sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years and heard nothing that moved him to dissent.
    ...
This clip will get played over and over again, in blogs, television show, and radio broadcasts not just until November but for years and years."

    It sure will!

At least Obama has not publicly, and in writing, denounced his own Country- and then had the temerity to run for President and CIC of it's Armed Forces! McCain has, and he's running on the Republican ticket that just loves to wrap itself in the Flag and loudly declare how patriotic and all Amerkin it is.

    Strange times indeed.

I have noticed a marked sense of increasing desperation amongst our fine right wing members and birds of the same feather in the US. If we look back at the hundreds of posts in the many threads related to the elections, I notice prior to the Iowa caucuses, no one not even the liberals gave Obama a chance and hardly a negative thing was said about him. All the talk was about Romney, Clinton, Richardson and rest.

As Obama's chances of being the next President are becoming more evident (if polls are to be believed) the conservatives are in a panic conjuring up all manner of reasons why he is unacceptable. Most of these reasons revolve around his race, his imagined religion or his statements related to doing something beneficial for lower and middle class Americans.

Racist comments abound but I fail to see how the amount of melanin in his skin has any bearing on his ability to fill the job. Not that it should matter but he is a Christian in spite of how many would try to conclude otherwise. As the gap between the haves and have nots in America widen, claiming he is for the betterment of lower and middle class people in contrast to big business or the rich is far healthier for the economy than what "conservatives" have and will continue offer.

You're going to have to do a much better job than you have so far to discredit Obama so get a grip my fine conservative friends your worst nightmare is about to be a reality. Obama will be the next President of the US.

From what was just on Bloomberg news it seems that at the present time, McCain has an even chance again either Demo canadate to win in the race.
And what the 2 demos are doing to each other has no bearings on his standing at all.

You are right re current polls. IMO what the democrats are doing right now is the only thing keeping McCain close. Once Obama is selected as the candidate and he focuses his efforts on the run against McCain, I believe we will see McCain's chances take a turn for the worse.

    of course.

the only attention mccain is getting now is when he mixes up sunnis and shiites---which is becoming an all too regular occurrence.

once clinton steps aside and obama is the candidate, the media and the electorate will have a chance to scrutinize mccain's 20 year voting record, his real military record (not the myth), his scandalous personal life, his hypocrisy on lobbyists, and the rage he has trouble containing.

if anything, obama benefits by having these things come out now in april....much better than august, september and october.

Well, Obama has given Clinton the ammo, and she has been shooting nonstop about Obama's working class whites comments alleging those comments are elitist and arrogant.

Absolutely hilarious watching how she is using this, a week after it was revealed the Clintons made over $109 million in the past 7 years, including $52 million from speeches that the president gave, $30 million from the book the president wrote, $10 million from Hillary's book, $1 million from Hillary's Senate salary, $1 million from Bill's pension and other items. If you do the math, for $15 million, the source is undisclosed, with the exception of two sources, including the Emir of Dubai.

So, here we have the candidate Clinton accusing Obama of being "elitist," while her own republican-like recent earnings history begs additional scrutiny.

Very bizarre and funny campaign indeed.

Save any 'projection' for the liberal view, eh?

The 'average' white person has been turned off by Obama's eletist attitudes as well as those so-called 'Archie Bunker' types I assure you. Those in their respective Ivory Towers cannot recognize this fact...heh
