I've hung out at supposedly haunted sites at the right hours, attempted rituals to summon spirits, played with ouija boards, and even tried to invite God into my life as well, but he never showed up either.
So in conclusion I am either spiritually impervious or just a realist.
Freedom does not chew bubblegum

Flippers are the same, you can use it to your own entertainment. Before Sandra and I went out to see a movie once I rushed back to our room when she was waiting for the lift and opened all the cupboard doors and drawers.
We got back a few hours later and she shit herself when we got in the room.

My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Anybody who believes in ghosts is in the grip of advanced mental illness.
I think ghosts are a definite possibility and we may find evidence of them in the future.
There has just been too many ghost sightings throughout history to completely discount the idea.

Most people believe in a god too, but it's still a crock of shit.Originally Posted by bkkmadness
Easy to deal with folks who believe there are ghosts everywhere. I have convinced all the village folks I have two or three in the house and a couple in my yard. Sure keeps the riff raff away. Much better than guard dogs or an alarm system.
The other day, 3 old ladies were sitting around talking about the ghost at the pond near our village. I quizzed them a bit about when she appears and what she looks like. It seems she can be heard crying near the pond when the moon is full but no one has the nerve to go to the pond so no one has actually seen her. I told them I was going to the pond the next full moon to have a talk with her to see if she would give me a winning lottery number. After a moment of stunned silence, one of the old ladies asked me if I was afraid. I told them she was probably just lonely and needed someone to talk to so why be afraid. They gave me the "dead man walking" look one would give a condemned man but did add if she told me the lottery number and I survived the ordeal, would I share the number with them.
It's a waste of time trying to convince folks there are no ghosts so I have a great time with all the ghost stuff in Thailand and have found it is best to humor the believers.

Ghosts are more popular and don't have religion. God doesn't believe in them.
Incidentally, very few people have been killed in the name of ghosts.

Animals can see and hear stuff we can't, we put it down to God and ghosts and whatever because we are an irretrievably stupid and arrogant race.
What animals know and what is beyond space is beyond our comprehension but we can't accept that, being the best species and all - so we make it up in what ever context suits us.

How would you know ghosts don't have religion?I'd think quite a few of them do. God would "know", not believe, and he (assuming you mean the Christian god) has not commented on the existence of ghosts. But he demands people do not worship anything besides him.
That's why it is called a "belief". Plenty of witness acounts though, and case studies where no plausible explanations for phenomena are found.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Most of us are guests in a foreign country. We have no business telling the natives what they should and shouldn't believe in. If they want to believe in things that go bump in the night then let them. I'm not racist, but i hate immigrants to the UK and other countries demanding (and often getting) things their way. I'll never be like that.

Not at all. If there's not any scientific proof, I am unwilling to believe it exists.Originally Posted by bkkmadness
