Well, be that as it may.
I really don't have a dog in this fight as I've always thought the when Gen. Kraingsak was running the show in LOS, things ran pretty smooth...![]()

My post is no more ignorant and inflamatory than the one I quoted. If it stays, so too should this.
If only some are allowed to post crap, call it out.
back on topic....
obama gave a very impressive speech this morning in philadelphia where he addressed the subject of race in america, and the controversial comments made by the primary subject of this thread.
IMO it was at the same time thoughtful, honest and challenging. i'm sure the bloggers and fauxnews will continue to attempt to fan the flames on this 'scandal', but most americans will instead be looking to either put it behind them---or as obama himself implored, use it as an opportunity to take a hard look at race in america and how the nation can move forward in a more unified manner.
^
Yada yada, yada..
When Don Imus was run off for his so-call 'inflamatory' speech re the girls basketball team, Obamarama stated he would not want his little girls listening to such talk. So, when this POS 'preacher' spews hate-filled sermons and Obamaram's daughters are in the congregation listening to "Go_damn America' etc...it don't work both ways...
A Deplorable Bitter Clinger
did you listen to the speech or read the transcript....or are you (again) simply parroting what some blogger posted? my guess is the latter.
and you don't think calling 20 year old student athletes 'prostitutes' is inflammatory?

The Page - by Mark Halperin - TIMEI have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely – just as I’m sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.
But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren’t simply controversial. They weren’t simply a religious leader’s effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country – a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America; a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam.
As such, Reverend Wright’s comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems – two wars, a terrorist threat, a falling economy, a chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change; problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all.
Given my background, my politics, and my professed values and ideals, there will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Reverend Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church? And I confess that if all that I knew of Reverend Wright were the snippets of those sermons that have run in an endless loop on the television and You Tube, or if Trinity United Church of Christ conformed to the caricatures being peddled by some commentators, there is no doubt that I would react in much the same way
But the truth is, that isn’t all that I know of the man. The man I met more than twenty years ago is a man who helped introduce me to my Christian faith, a man who spoke to me about our obligations to love one another; to care for the sick and lift up the poor. He is a man who served his country as a U.S. Marine; who has studied and lectured at some of the finest universities and seminaries in the country, and who for over thirty years led a church that serves the community by doing God’s work here on Earth – by housing the homeless, ministering to the needy, providing day care services and scholarships and prison ministries, and reaching out to those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
>>snip<<
As imperfect as he may be, he has been like family to me. He strengthened my faith, officiated my wedding, and baptized my children. Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms, or treat whites with whom he interacted with anything but courtesy and respect. He contains within him the contradictions – the good and the bad – of the community that he has served diligently for so many years.
I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.
and by the way, he wrote the speech himself. the current occupant of 1600 pennsylvania avenue couldn't pronounce some of the words in that speech much less write them.
Obama's call for Imus's firing was based on this single event.
"He didn't just cross the line," Obama said. "He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America."
The Corner on National Review Online=
Calling America "go_damn America" and spewing lies re. Aids etc?
Don't make me laugh. This preacher has effectively blown Obamaram's chances right outa left field...
^ thanks for answering my question about you parroting the opinion of some blogger. why did i even wonder?

Ray , how the fok do you know if he wrote that speech himself ?
He and his team had a full day of damage control to come up with that.
It was just that damage control.
Thanks for your lovely red and garbage comment you left with it.
Shows what a piece of shit you probably are.
boon mee, do you attend religious services? if so, are you responsible for everything the pastor/rabbi/imam says? is it not possible for someone to disagree with the political views of his/her pastor?
what you haven't realized yet (because you haven't read it on some blog) is that obama's speech has effectively neutralized this rabid ight wing generated media storm. responsible people will no longer be distracted by this spectacle. sorry, you're going to have to find something else about obama to hate and demonize.
and if you really think that this 'scandal' is going to have any influence on the general election (which is more than 6 months from now) you're even less politically astute than i previously thought...and that's no small feat.
and btw, i support everything i've read that obama said about the racist comments imus made.
and bobby tits, obama is both eloquent and literate (one of the many reasons why the likes of you find him so threatening).
he wrote both of his books (practically unheard for politicians) and it was widely reported that he wrote this speech over the weekend. but no, i wasn't there to see him write it.
^
As much as you try to explain away the controversy, Obama has been damaged - probably beyond repair. Yes, we do have a lot of time before the Nov. elections but, as they say down south, "that dog don't hunt".

You mean the book with the title from one of Rev Wright's speeches ?
The likes of me find him so threating ?
You need a good smack to bring you back into reality.
I find nothing threating about him and "almost" still feel he is the best of the 3 candidates to pull America out of the toilet Bush & Company has put the country in.
The fact still remains if any other candidate aligned themselves with a rabid racist like Rev Wright and his recently exposed comments it would be the end of their political career.
Double standard because Obama is black and he is being handled with kid gloves.....

I'll answer to your comments here. I think it's fair for you to question.
Many personal attacks and insults have been removed by me and other mods.
I am careful NOT to selectively delete yours. But some of your posts, and Ray's were sent to the bin. Most of the removed posts - I just counted - are NOT yours.
Many threads, even the "how old are you?" thread ended being calling people names.
Many threads have been turned into playground insults and a few posters (not me or Ray) have reported the posts.
You can trust me.
Many posts have turned threads into garbage.
............
I just noticed the same thing happening and so will watch and see if it is only mine or the offencive posts by Ray Baby are also dumped, he does get off on being a nasty prick, and seems to get away with it.Originally Posted by Texpat

Double bullshit!. You are the least moderated poster on here. 99% of what you post is offensive and insanitary ramblings about "coons, queers, dykes, niggers, and gooks", calling it insane gibberish would be an insult to decent insane people everywhere yet somehow it's almost always allowed to stand.
