LOS ANGELES - Six people, including two children, have been killed and three other children wounded in a shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, US authorities have told CNN.
A fire department official told CNN that a unit had responded to an emergency call from a home tonight.
Firefighters found six bodies and the three wounded children at the scene, the official said.
The wounded were a seven-year-old boy, a 10-month-old girl and a 4-year-old whose gender was not immediately known, CNN said.
All three had suffered gunshot wounds and had been rushed to hospital, the report said.
The local Commercial Appeal newspaper said there was no motive at this stage.
"We just don't know the motive or cause of death, but we do have four adults and two children (dead)," Memphis police Lt Jerry Guin told the paper.
"I've been on a scene where there were one or two or three (victims), but I don't remember anything this large."
