| he is an older, retired thai (not chinsese in thai) guy with a Phd from the usa. reasonably good english though he rarely uses it. the thing that impressed me is that i didnt ask him to get involved and he conflicted a bit with the university prez who was the source of the shitty policy. he also had nothing to gain except the western joy of seeing common sense prevail.
though retired, he accepted this year long assignment (in a pretty isolated location) as a favour (and some $$ retirement incentive i am sure) to friend in the government. he is away from his family and i think he would appreciate both the gesture of the thank you as well as the contents of the bottle. |
