I'd help you Marmers, but I don't think I could drag you outta the house.
Sorry, guys. I need to gain at least 5 pounds. Preferably in the boobie area (no silicon). Swap considered.
Even if you lose weight, you need to exercise or else your skin sags, worse than being a bit hefty, IMO. I was always partial to the thigh master machine and small weights at the gym, but I much prefer swimming in the ocean. I refuse to get in a chlorinated pool here, and everyone always seems to get athlete's foot or some other manky skin disease.

Gym memberships are negotiable. Try and bargain for a lower price if you can. When my gym put the price up my girlfriend went round and gave them a rocket. Result: I was paying half of what some others that just joined up were paying.

Sorry, Chi. Although I could do with losing about 5kg, I hate dieting & hate gyms. Lugging dogs around is exercise, isn't it?

Hoping that stopping the booze will get me to drop some weight (it did last time.) That's about all I'm prepared to do towards the goal.

    Good luck, though, guys.

I'm back training properly for the first time since I slipped a disk. Went back and did some light training to rebuild my back muscles and strengthen my stomach muscle.

Fucking sore this week though. I've had to include legs in my workout again since I stopped that for aching knees.

    Current Regime is as follows

    Monday
Warm up 30 mins level 6 - 9 elipitcal trainer
    Barbell Benchpress
    Barbell Incline Bench Press
    Barbell Decline Bench Press
    Overhead dumb bell pull
    Dumbell flyes
    Cable Crossovers
    8-10 reps each x 4 sets
30 minutes running upto 10km/h + 5 minutes warm up + 5 minutes warm down

    Tuesday
    Barbell Curls
    Dumbell hammer curls
    Bent Bar curls
    Alt. Dumbell Curls
    Preacher Curls
    Concentration Curls
    X 8 Reps x 4 sets

Same warm up and running as Monday

    Wednesday
    Squat - 8-10 x 4
    Leg Press
    Roman Deadlifts
    Leg Extensions
    Leg Curl
    Calf raises

Warm up = 15 minutes level 1 eliptical trainer
    Finish Fast walking - 7km hour 20minutes +5 up +5 down

    Thursday

    Straightbar pressdowns
    Skull crushers
    Overhead dumbell extensions
Rope Press down - hate this one
    revers Grip Pressdown
    Dips
    100 situps with 5kg weight
80 side stretch thingies with wieght for side stomach muscles
    x8 x4

Warm up and running as monday and tuesday

    Friday
    Military Press
    Dumbell Front raises
    Lat Pulldowns
    Single Arm Rows
    cable Rows
    Shoulder Shrugs (superset)
Neck - evil machine but works
    x 8 x4

Warm up and running as rest of the week

I changed my routine this week. added a few new ones and took a couple out that i didn't think worked so well.
I will try this one for a few weeks.

Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site. is a great resource for routines and how to do exercises.

I am currently 95kgs. Which is gain of 12kgs in the last three years. I went up nearly ten since coming to Korea. 2.5kgs going back to see the folks and eating crap for three weeks
Ideally I want to be back at 90kgs.

I think that this would only work, for me, if they chased me round the block. My Doctor would be very happy if I could loose about 30 kilos. She reckons that I may live a little longer if I do. The g/f is not bothered, too much, but my Mother would love it. I don't have the figures at my fingertips, but I am with Chi on this. I will find a machine and then you can all see what a huge blob I really am. Later.....

Whenever I visit the US I put on three or four kilos and this trip is no different. Everyone wants you to eat and drink. I figure I consume twice as much food and alcohol on a Stateside visit as I do at home and this trip is no different. Even though I workout every day (only missed two since I arrived) I still pile on the fat.

So, when I get back to Korat on the 7th I'll be doing my damnedest to be even more of a loser than I am now.

i'm pretty similar to Mrs Q without the regime

marmers i'm starting again, i bought a good set of weights and bench from a thai company, it cost me about 12 K altogether for a basic rack and about 80kg in free wights, plus olympic bar etc

if you have the space its the way to go, let me know if you want the link, they deliver and set up, and will deliver extra stuff no bother.

i'd love to partner up but i intend to work out at home. if you are in early lad prao you can use my gear no problemo
    we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...

    Ok brothers.
My name is Jaiyenyen and I'm fat. 6ft and 124kgs.
I won't kid myself that I will ever go to the gym, because I've got zero willpower.
But I do want to buy an exercise machine to use at home, what would you choose, eliptical trainer or exercise bike. Please bear in mind that it will probably double as a clothes hanger after a few weeks
Do not walk beside me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me for I may not follow. Just pretty much leave me the fuck alone!

    Jaiyenyen,

Not to be overly negative here but if you can't find the motivation to go to the gym any sort of home gym equipment's likely to go unused as well.

At least it did in my case, ended up giving it away

The secret to sustained weight loss is to be consistent but take it easy, not go to hard or deprive ones self of all pleasures and aim for the gym every 2nd day.

If you go to hard and try and go every day you will burn out quickly.

Also important is to work out with other people so the motivation level remains high and also the eye candy helps but it must be combined with a realistic diet and sensible food choices.

Home gyms seldom work unless you are very highly motivated and committed so its much better to spend the money and join the company of others.

I was very fit before my last trip to thailand but put on foking 4 kilo and now have to work hard to loose it, I must admit I'm struggling at the moment as I'm used to being in shape and feel like shit when I put on a few kilo.

Yeah, but what do you do when you've really lost the plot for about 3 years, balooned up 20 kilos, haven't hit the gym in 3 years, and you were in great shape your whole life? And, you just woke up and realized you're an old fart over 50.

It seems overwhelming to get back in shape sometimes.
