All he says is CHANGE, and no real plans. Look for empty promises... I recall him saying... we will rebuild the levees in New Orleans to withstand a Cat5 Hurricane that will last a hundred years. (full of shite promise)

-McCain will beat either dem candidate, and Dems will meltdown once again.

This has got to be the most disjointed, confused thread in issues. Not sure if it should be continued as is, shit-canned, or something in between.

Main thing against him is his age...sure Reagan turned it around when this was brought up and his response was well rehearsed as no doubt McCain's is if or rather when it's brought up by the opposition, but fact is he's aiming for the most powerful post in the world and the 'don't knows' may well decide they want a younger person.

Americans are going to punish the Republican party for the debacle in Iraq big time.
The next president will be a Democrat.

Just watched the linky of Obama in Wisconsin. Thanks, Bobby. Lady asked about home foreclosures and Obama said he'd have a $10 bil program in place to help folks, but wants them to work with the banks to negotiate deals. OK. Didn't Bush just get pounded for suggesting just such a bill? Most of the foreclosures are on subprime borrowers who could never afford the loan payments (like welfare folks -- not all, but some). Why bail out the losers? Throwing good money after bad, IMO. It is the banks' fault for setting up these insane mortgage-for-anybody policies, but they are also paying for it. I think Wachovia is the only bank that steered clear of these loan issues.
I also cringe when his wife speaks at interviews -- Princeton-Harvard law grad and she says "gonna". Ouch. That hits a chord.

Whether irresponsible individuals or financial institutions, losers expecting to be bailed out are likely to turn into serial losers.

In the case of the conglomerates, it's nothing short of criminal to post enormous profits year on year and then stat squealing when a bad move bites their ass.

I am far from a fan of the black community in USA as this is pretty typical of them

^ True, but she was the premier First Lady that most everyone knew by name, I reckon.

"Eleanor shattered the ceremonial mold in which the role of the First Lady had traditionally been fashioned, and reshaped it around her own skills and her deep commitment to social reform. She gave a voice to people who did not have access to power. She was the first woman to speak in front of a national convention, to write a syndicated column, to earn money as a lecturer, to be a radio commentator and to hold regular press conferences." Etc.
    TIME 100: Eleanor Roosevelt

I signed up to Obama's website and this is what I got in the mail today:

    "Jettie,

As you've probably heard, there could be a wildcard in the race for the Democratic nomination.
We firmly believe that the candidate who has won the most pledged delegates -- the result of having more voters in more places supporting your campaign -- will be the Democratic nominee.
But to be safe, we are working to attract the support of "superdelegates" -- party officials and Democratic officeholders from across the country -- who also have a vote at the Democratic National Convention.
You may already know some superdelegates -- they include senators, governors, and even former presidents and vice presidents. But many others are ordinary people who hold positions in the state and local party operations.
These nearly 800 superdelegates will vote alongside the more than 3,000 pledged delegates who are chosen in the various state primaries and caucuses. The candidate that gets a majority of all delegates (superdelegates and pledged delegates combined) will be the Democratic nominee for president.
Right now, Barack is ahead in the contest for pledged delegates. We've won 23 contests out of the 35 that have been held so far -- including the last 8 in a row. And with our decisive victories in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC on Tuesday, we now lead by more than 135 pledged delegates in the race for the Democratic nomination.
While we intend to continue winning states and expanding our lead among the pledged delegates, and believe that will likely ensure that Barack is the Democratic nominee, we're also doing the work of reaching out to superdelegates and making sure as many as possible support Barack Obama.
Here's where you can play a key role.
Our work so far has taught us one important lesson: that your personal story about why you support Barack Obama is often the most powerful persuasion tool for someone who's undecided. That's true whether that undecided voter is your neighbor or a superdelegate.
The story of where you're from, what brought you into the political process, the issues that matter to you, and why you became part of this movement has the potential to inspire someone who could cast a deciding vote in this contest.
Our staff will compile stories from supporters like you and make them a key part of the conversation with superdelegates as Barack asks for their support.
Share your story to help persuade superdelegates now:
    http://my.barackobama.com/superdelegates
I've received a lot of email from folks asking how best to help with the superdelegate effort, and this is it.
Your note, combined with those of other Obama supporters, will tell the story of an extraordinary movement of ordinary people -- a story with a common thread of hope that becomes all the more powerful when it brings together the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our supporters.
Together we're building something historic, and your story can help make someone else a part of it.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you,
    David

Guess I'm on the mailing list. Here's your chance, Obama supporters, to make a difference (or whatever that slogan is).

It is a fact that most folks like Little Cockload just can't stand the stature that America held for some many years.
