Pat Condell is a hilarious, brilliant guy. His rants on Islam are the best I've heard. I wonder what Condell would think of Deism? This is a belief system that assumes a god but doesn't believe in revelation. Deism believes that humans are too limited to reveal the workings of a deity. However, Deism does believe that a higher intelligence reveals itself indirectly and is self-evident through nature and reason. I kind of like the Deist slogan "God gave us reason, not religion." Much of the religion-bashing on this web site is for good reason. Should Deism, widely believed several hundred years ago, be lumped together with the others as just another bad belief system?
