a couple of years ago that OP

-today had the experience of the AK47 at the firing range of the Cu Chi tunnels just outside Saigon, Vietnam. - top toy!

I'll have to say though, contrary to many of those with experience in such matters, I found the M16 to be a nicer gun to shoot.

As for the tunnels - well worth a visit - the War Remnants museum in HCMC (Saigon) and Re-unification Palace is also well worth a look (there's still an old helicopter on the roof from 1975).
