I was the one who helped this client in Korat to get his extension based on 7,17 (5) *support of a child. Yes, it went to BKK, he had to show some money. Can't tell you how much, I don't have the client's consent but this story was posted somewhere else. So, it's public, but not his bank account!

If you want to try it, go to immigration, show them the law, print some post from forums, argue...maybe you will get it, maybe they will ask money because you must SUPPORT the child, maybe the officer will be nice with you and do it. TIT.

I will do another one in January, don't know the date. The foreigner has an income of 30K per month. Not enough for retirement or marriage extension. I was told in Korat (because we double check before) that we should have no problem....
