    The Mummy (2017).

Big budget action romp with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe.

If you take it as it is, a popcorn movie, it's just a mindlessly ridiculous, but entertaining CGI romp with very little by way of plot.

Ironically I've just watched one of those "top ten countdown" things that say it's going to cost the studio $100 million, but if you actually bother to look, it cost $125m to make and has made $77 million in the US - and $377 million in the rest of the world.

    Some bomb!

Yeah, then add in sales in other forms of course.

Fact is it's very rare for a Tom Cruise film to not make decent coin.

Looks like that site specializes in YIFY's torrents. He does have a lot of good content.

Game of Thrones SEA7EP1 is up. Also, on PB, there is a GOT "The Story So Far" which refreshes your memory for the first six seasons. I may actually watch that prior to starting the new season - been a while.

"The Story So Far" is well worth the investment of 65 minutes - there was quite a lot I had forgotten.

Mixed bag of genres, some recent some not so.

    Anthropoid (2016)
Based on a true event. Story follows two of seven operatives dropped into Czechoslovakia during WWII to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich.

    The Great Raid (2005)
Based on a true event. The survivors of the Bataan Death March are held at a POW camp. With the help from Filipino guerrillas, a daring rescue mission is ordered before the Japanese kill all the captives.

    Name of the Rose (1986)
In the 14th century, William of Baskerville (Sean Connery), a renowned Franciscan monk, and his apprentice, Adso of Melk (Christian Slater), travel to an abbey where a suspicious death has occurred. Using his deductive powers, William begins investigating what he believes to be murder. During the course of his investigation, several more monks wind up dead. With fear running through the abbey, the church leaders call forth Bernardo Gui (F. Murray Abraham), William's nemesis, to find the truth.
    The World's Fastest Indian. (2005)
    Stars Anthony Hopkins.
New Zealander Burt Munro spent years perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle. The year is 1967, and Burt takes his machine to Utah's salt flats, where he attempts the impossible, using his dream bike to set a new world's record for speed. Based on a true story, the record Munro set more than three decades ago still has not been broken to this day.
    Harley and the Davidsons (2016)
3 part mini-series (approx 70-80 mins each episode)
The story of Harley Davidson's founders from 1903 to the 30's. Some good racing scenes using vintage bikes (or reproductions), not just Harleys but Indian, Excelsior, Pope etc.
From the Discovery Channel so includes their pop-ups etc. Still, a damned good series.

    Bad Grandpa (2013)

Irascible Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and his young and impressionable grandson, Billy (Jackson Nicoll), set out on a road trip across America. Hidden cameras capture their insane and shocking encounters with a diverse set of unsuspecting citizens, including male strippers, disgruntled contestants (and their mothers) from a children's beauty pageant, mourners at a funeral home, patrons at a biker bar and more.
    Ulzana's Raid (1972)
Burt Lancaster plays a tracker in pursuit of an Apache warrior and his braves who have fled a reservation. Burt has to outsmart Ulzana's every move if he is to gain any ground on him.

Just started season 4 of Alone- watched the intro

    it's up to episode 5
It is a fly on the wall survival show:
Contestants with limited survival skills (but think they are the dogs bollocks)
and strong emotional links to home (making them vulnerable), are dropped in the wilderness- BC Canada here- to survive with limited kit, usually as winter approaches, and opportunities scarce.
They are competing in pairs for a cash prize for the ones who last longest..

Very poor contestants selection this year ?
7 pairs, only one women, the males looking, dressing sounding, indistinguishable.
The 40 year olds all looking 60..
Why not have more women, 2 sisters , more couples...

At least the producers did not bow to political correctness and choose a bum boy 'couple' - thought that might have been funny watching them mince about and fail.

    Here are the 14

I've just finished The Handmaid's Tale and probably a bit behind the curve here, but wow... wish I had read the book, what incredibly powerful drama it was. Maybe someone can shed some light if that's where the book ends as I guess a second season is in the making, will be well worth waiting for.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
