Big feller. Definitely not a house gekko. Some kind of field lizard. Get some sticky paper for catching mice.

It's some kind of garden lizard. It doesn't have sticky gekko feet and can't run up the wall.

Don't worry it'll leave if there's not enough food. No problem if it can't climb on the wall or ceiling.
I once had a gekko on the ceiling that shit in my eye while i was leaning back in the recliner watching TV. Looking on the good side, at least my mouth wasn't open.

He /she didn't necessarily ask to be there.

There must have been some trees/bushes somewhere near you that he/she could have been relocated to?

    Probably hiding from the birds.

Thai Lizard ,Blue-crested Lizard (calotes mystaceus)

    Threat to humans[edit]
Non-venomous and harmless to humans. Can give a painful bite if handled, but is not dangerous.
