Saying you will never cause an accident if you drive carefully is the most laughable, ridiculous claim ever. Accidents can happen to anyone, careful people can make mistakes. And they do.
Not when they were being careful. Everyone can have a momentary lack of concentration, but if it results in a death, they'll be prosecuted. That's the way it is.

Whether they would be prosecuted depends entirely on the law and whether they broke it. Accidents resulting in death happen all the time where there is no prosecution.

What about a mechanical or brake failure?

People on here seem to forget that the deceased stated in a video that she feared for her safety due to the reckless way in which the ex boyfriend drove. And it was one of the reasons why she split from him.

The guy was abiding by local road standards. Is it reckless? Well its all relative, but there really is no other way to drive in Thailand. You're setting yourself up for danger by doing otherwise since other drivers will assume incorrect actions on your part. When in Rome and all that...

Lets hope this poor young student gets away with it as after all it was only an accident.

A young graduate student has been charged with reckless driving after running over a 58-year-old woman on a bicycle in Pathum Thani province this morning, killing her instantly.

Thanadech Maksiri, 23, who studies international business at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, crashed his BMW into Pattamawadee Prammareung at the entrance of his university.

Thanadech, who said he did not see Pattamawadee on the road, crashed into her with full force.

So that's the defence? "Yes officer I was too close to the car in front so lost control and she died, but everyone here drives too close, so I'm in the clear."

He's being prosecuted, so it doesn't work that way.

Posted 2 hours ago on Sun Fruit Dan's youtube account. Danny Glass says he is unaware that he has been charged with reckless driving by he police. Even the British Embassy is not aware of him being charged with any crimes in Thailand.

He's in denial. He already admitted that he had to make an uncontrolled emergency stop. Now he's saying that because he was going in a straight line and was under the speed limit, he did nothing wrong.

In a country that abided by legal standards, whether it worked that way would depend entirely on whether there was a law against tailgaiting and whether it was adequantely enforced, whether in the law or in the courtroom.

And, let's be clear, you know fuck all about any of those things. You just like yelling GUILTY.

I'm not yelling anything but unlike you I possess the intelligence to know that most RTAs are not no-blame accidents, and that a deterrent exists by way of prosecution to try to minimise careless driving, which losing control of a motorbike resulting in a death due to insufficient stopping distance certainly is.

"Emma Sophie Rose from youtube channel Sophy's joy died in thailand on scooter - spiritual reason for death. i explain the spiritual reasons for premature death
usually, it is because they push too hard in life and then they end up in accidents. Many people who found to spirituality had near death experiences or had a very serious accident just before so they started to look at life differently" Daniel Eder ASMR Spiritual Growth

Hey Wilsonandson. Delete the 's' at the end off 'http' and then 'copy'. You'll get a centralized video then.

Yeah, that aspect of it is handled through insurance bro not the courts. You really have no clue about any of this stuff do you?

The courts are for gross negligence.

Let's go ahead and prove you wrong here with numbers then you can continue shouting at clouds.

In 2015, Great Britain saw 1,732 road death fatalites (this includes people dying in cars as well as people getting hit on foot or bike by cars).

    https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...nfographic.pdf

In 2015, 389 drivers were charged with criminal offenses in those cases.

Clearly most road accidents are, in fact, not prosecuted. So you're completely, 100% factually wrong

    Ok, that's it. Bye now

Follow the two second rule and you won't go wrong.

Oh, that and cars stop quicker than bikes and trucks stop a lot quicker than most people think.

Some guys on here probably might still remeber this as they had to memorize and were tested on it?

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

I didn't say most are prosecuted. I said most are caused by someone.

Firstly, many accidents result in more than one death, secondly, often the deceased is at fault so can't be prosecuted, and thirdly that sufficient evidence is usually lacking to make a successful prosecution likely where the careless person survived, seems to have escaped you.

^^The little bugger's right hand seemed to have more in mind than a snack on tap.
Seems more than a little weird. But shouldn't speak ill of the dead...so I'll leave that to others.

btw...Has there been a definite reason issued for why the truck driver is being charged in this incident?
