I wouldn't wish to piss on his parade but there is the FLTR application in two and half years time and then the ILR application by which time the fees will have increased five times. Together with the Brit.Cit. naturalisation to come, assuming of course she manages the inexorably increasing demand for ever greater proficiency in English, I think your friend should budget for at least another 6-8,000.
