    My Isaan House Building Tread

I decided to start a new tread for my building since my other treads discussed other plans, and i also see my last updates with photos was lost here. After looking and discussing different plans i had to start all over when my wife wanted to buy two old wood houses on two trucks who stopped outside near or home eating their lunch.

The new plan is 147sqm x2, and kind of a mix of ideas and materials: ground floor is cement/blocks, second floor are wood post whith wood flooring, and there will be some wood walls. Outside will be sherawood. Windows are upvc, roofing is steel and will use metal bluescoope metal roof. Here is photos from first month of building.

Good luck, the builders will drive you crazy if they are like most of the ones I have dealt with over the years

Having a hard time to agree roofing color with wife and myself. For some time my preferred colors was grey first floor ( blocks) brown/wood color sherawod (not the prepainted brown) and dark green bluescoope roofing, and white windows.

Thanks JPPR2. I had to make a building tread after gone over all building treads here on TD for info and knowledge, it helped me allot. I changed planes 3-4 times before going for this house, and im happy for time spent on this project before starting up, and also under the way. I used long time on some parts of the planing and to decide roof, windows etc.

Today i got the blocks for first floor, i ended up with the white B14,5 sold at Global House And Metro Home.

    Hi Pink,
Do you have the roof area insulated in the living part of the building or are you not bothering ?

Thanks Norton. They are experience team, most of them 40-60 and worked long together so somethimes im quite impressed how easy and smooth its going. I almost named this project "hybrid thai building" its full of compromises between me and wife and the builders, and a mix of new and old. On some parts i think its best to do as they know and used to.. the thai way, then on other parts like cooling, insulation etc its not easy to move me..

When we bought the land i was very shure to not build 2 floor and just a small/medium size house on 100sqm or so, but after wife could not resist buying 2 old woodhouses whed showed up on two trucks, we started over with plans. Ground area on this building is 147sqm so its 2-3 times what i first planed. Top floor have much outside area, its a combined master bedroom and homeoffice, and a kid room.

Both wife and her family/relatives was very hyped on this two wood houses so i told ok.. Later i found out how expensive wood is here, so i understand very good why many build with blocks and cement. I had to buy a buy some extra wood to get it right and enough.. One house had thick good flooring the other much thinner, so i guyed other old thicker flooring to get all flooring same and thick, then the thinner flooring is now wall. (the houses was not complete, but i got 2 trucks with usable wood)

Very nice house, I like everything on one level and even going up those stairs look to be easy. Looking forward to seeing more details.
