and if you don't want to get off your arse but still would like to play some sports check out Panthip plaza for a complete range of sports for your computer.
You can be a football manager, play football, NFL, basketball, golf, race cars etc etc.
Something for everyone and you can stillget exercise by not asking the missus to get you a fresh beer. Get off your arse and get it yourself!!

    Me? I love me sports!!

I play at Thailand Tigers...I had heard we were trying to line up a game half rugby/half Australian Rules with either yourselves or Southerners...probably southerners now I think about it...

THAT would have been interesting, having played a bit of both!

Anyone can play Australian football...we have some Brits, Irish, Canadians, Kiwis...just finished our season but due to start again in the new year. Practice and games are at Patanna School.

When I lived in Bkk I used to play in the MBMG Farang League for SCI Robin Hood (used to be Blue Gecko and Hunters before that) all of the games are played up at Patana School and they've got a nice set-up there - three pitches and decent changing rooms.

Anyway, now that I'm living down South I have discovered that there is absolutely no infrastructure for footballers here. I'm not taking it seriously as I just want to keep fit and enjoy myself, but what about talented young Thai footballers? It's obviously a case of "you're nothing if you don't live in Bkk." Same as education really.

I now play every night at the local immigration office pitch with normally 20-30 other blokes, it's not quite jumpers or goalposts but not far off.

    Cricket in Chiang Mai

No web link but this is another one for the list Chiang Mai Cricket Club (CMCC). We play most Sundays at either the Gymkhana Club in Chiang Mai or Prem School out beyond Mae Rim. We have nets on Wednesdays at 4pm weather permitting at the Gymkhana Club. Just follow the dirt track to the right of the driving range. That goes along the side of the 7th? hole on the golf course. The nets are just beyond the green behind the next tee.

We have 3 teams that play during the cool season in the CMCC league and represent the North of Thailand in the Thailand Inter Regional tournament every year.

Cricketers of all abilities welcome and spectators are invited to prop up the pitch side bar. PM me if you need more details.

    Touring teams welcome.

    Douglas

PS am working on the website

I just came back from playing tennis under an intense sun.
    Time to get really fit.
I've dusted off the weights bench and am back off the alcohol.
I'll be exuding health by around November.

Hope you had a good time? 11 shots less than last week. Which shows just how bad last week was. Got a friend who wants to join us next week. He is already a member and a member at Chiang Mai Lamphun. He could get us in as guests some time in the future. Works out about the same as we are paying at Mae Jo. Interested?
