A sad reality called progress?
Oops wrong thread. But worth a look.
Other boats dolphin watching.
My shutter was too slow but they would surface just to our left.

I'm betting that is Cambodia on the right. I saw groups of people along the banks also spotting the Dolphins.
I was going to start a new thread Called Pakse Laos but this one should do as well as It is Laos. Just that this next series is centered in the town.
This is a temple on the south side of the Don river wich would make a nice walking tour from most places along the Mekong and Don. Plenty of coffee shops and hotels along the river walk popular with tourists.
I was on the red scooter just sightseeing.

A stroll around the grounds.
This rig is docked behind the temple on the south side of the Don river. I think it does Mekong river cruises.
They built this back in 2011. Now their rebuilding it. I couldn't get past the gate. Maybey next time.
Another view of the fixerupper. It's across the Don river from the Temple and the houseboat.
A couple coats of paint and some new fixtures and your in. Right?
This place is across the road from the Temple. Not too shabby.
At the mall. Nothing strange there hey.
The grand riverside hotel is right on the Pakse Bridge. I think the rooms with river view are about 60usd.
The grounds are well kept. It may be one of the nicer places in Pakse from what I have seen. Across the bridge is a Large temple on the hill called Phu Salao Golden Buddha.

A nice outdoor restaurant as well.
Nice pool.
It does seem a bit shallow according to the sign that is.
Looking north from the Riverside hotel. Walking distance to main street shops and the river walk restaurants.
The Freindship mart has just about anything you may need. I found Jim beam for 14usd for what is 16 in the states. Champa brand 25000 kip (3usd).
Gf is now face book friends with this gal. She sold us two phones for 120,000 kip each 14usd, the wifi for 320,000 kip (30usd)
Right on the river walk, seemed a nice place. Coffee shops bakery ect near by. I forgot the cost per room.
Not bad rooms and in a good location.
Never been but, on the basis of your thread I think we will.Originally Posted by fishlocker
Incidentally I've got a feeling that the cruise boat you showed comes up our was occasionally. I've certainly seen something very similar.
