    Gabian baskets For walls
I would buy an old wooden house that Is being demolished or left to rot and plane and retreat the timber
I also like the idea of tree trunk for the stantions
You could have had a grass / turf roof sloping up off the road and invisible
I would have liked to have built something different but never had the time with the kids
The possibilities are endless in Thailand with cheap labour
I also seen a house that was built out of shipping containers that was cool
    Good luck

    Humm ... something different.

Maybe you could use your store of building materials?

Eastern or Western design ... up to you.

I'd help drink the beer so you can have the empties, only if your buying though. Should take us all a good session. Maybe use the bottles from Jimbobs party.

Old bald tyres compacted with mud gets my vote...

    don't forget the furniture..

    and the garden..

I'm looking along the lines of a U shaped home, which is a mix of styles of sundowner and Hacienda.
Here's where we are at present the guys are coming today to clear the land, and the lumberjack coming tomorrow to cut the Big mango tree.

I've decide on Khoi style bushes insted of a wall, the bush is really sturdy and not much gets through them, though the pricing presently is way of the mark,60 baht a seedling, reckon i can get a local to do for me for around 3 baht.

The tractor comes and clears all the land when everything is cut,had 3 prices 15,000 20,000(green eyed gullible farang bstard price) and final price of 12,000.

We are going to get the soil to raise the land from two areas which can be used for ponds, one is already a small pond.

Good thing about the site is,we are very close to everything that we plan to farm fish chicken and ducks and pigs, and veggies.

Well will be off soon to place all the cut bamboo into the big pond to deter the mongrels from taking the fish.

Quite like Chitty's idea but only if you're retyred.

Other point - define "disruptive one", please.

Taking into account the Thai laws on land ownership (corporations excluded) I doubt you will have an easy time of keeping her out. Unless of course, she's hi-so & wouldnt be seen dead in an Isaan house build, normally.

Can you elucidate (in the privacy of your own squat, of course)?

Yep, I remember a unanimous verdict of guilty on that charge from the TD CSI jury.

She was a junkie, he claimed to be curing her with the old "suck hard for medicine routine"

Be aware that moving wood is strictly controlled. If you're going from one mooban to another you'll need to get permission.

Our place is 75% wood and we bought a derelict wooden house in a neighbouring village to repair and expand on what we had. Seemed straight forward until our old friend, Bankeo, mentioned the moving.
Took a week to sort out. Cost us nothing but time, but it's worth checking it out.

It maybe different in your area but it's quite serious up here in Chiang Rai.
If you get caught moving wood without permission the whole lot can be confiscated and there are fines.

Have you seen this? You filthy crusty.

Home sweet dome! Man builds his own dream mini-home in just six weeks for only $9,000 | Daily Mail Online

One man's otherworldly Thailand dome home was built in six weeks -- for a mere $9,000.
Steve Areen decided to build the dream home while visiting friend Hajjar Gibran. Gibran was in the middle of building dome homes for his Thailand retreat center in 2011,
