Yes Fatboys house.
I really like this one because it's simple.
Add rap around verandas and a garage it will be Fine.
Thanks, Wasp for featuring my little economical house again!
Not done a lot to the house in the past year. I think the garden will be my retirement project - if I ever get to retire........

Really great stuff Fatty.
Great thread and very good pics. Some beautiful homes being built around Thailand.
We built our house at Saraphee, about 15km outside Chiang Mai, moved in March last year, on an 800sq mtr block.
We were quoted 1.2 mil bht by the builder but it went a bit higher by the time we fitted it out.
Would recommend our builder to anyone building in the CM - Hang Dong area, good guy and talented builder.

In this complete absence of building activity I must go back to a Stages of Construction ...... Smithson's Conversion .
And this one is wonderful .
If you are at all interested in construction ideas and you haven't read Smithson's Thread - well it's a very good thread.

Interesting ...........

^ Not his house or construction though, Wasp. Just a picture he found he on the Internet. Probably from here: http://www.banidea.com/garden-house-by-hartmanbaldwin
What has happened to the forum that once celebrated active and lively contributions to the construction/building sub-forum?

Supplanted by a proliferation in the popularity of dog house dwellers and lounge lizards.Originally Posted by thaimeme

My partners Aunt built a Thai house (we would call it more a shack) for herself and her Mum ... looks nothing like the palaces on this thread.
I'll see if I can dig out the before and after photos ... assuming Waspy doesn't mind me posting directly into his thread?

In the mean time, I stayed in this, what I think is beautifully done open plan guest house. It belongs to an ex's Sister.

Seems like all the TD members have already finished their houses....
...or walked away from the project.
Anyhoo, how are you supposed to walk around the house on a Sunday morning scratching your nuts in a place like this?
Good one jonnyenglish.
Nice pad you have there.
Good one Waspy, keep this thread alive.
much appreciated this thread nice one..
Not my place Bogy.. just an inspiration that I posted on my house build thread that made it onto this one.. I like the low profile and roof line, but I'm not a fan of open-plan houses on pads level with the ground out in these parts, all manner of things would wander through.
That top one is not a home. it's a hotel in the middle of bangkok
