The cultural tag "Baba" was given to the varied mix of Malay, Hokkien Chinese, Eurasians, Burmans, and even Indonesian immigrants that made up a decent percentage of working class poor immigrants from the turn of last century well into the 1970s...since faded as groups moved on or inter-married with Thai.
