I know where a lot of their old stage equipment is stored did some work for Jimmy Page at Plumpton Place. So tempting to take one of the old tour boxes but bit of a give away as it has property of Led Zepplin printed all over the stuff.
Still decent bloke nice tip at the end of the contract.

Press Report: The Led Zeppelin concert at the showgrounds last Sunday must rate as one of the best ever held in Sydney - but, if the crowd had not stormed the fences, it could have been the worst. The official attendence figure was 27,000 but senior police officers at the concert estimated the crowd at "at least 30,000". According to showground officials the three stands used last Sunday have a maximum capacity of 25,000 - so whatever way you look at it the ground was dangerously overcrowded.

Despite the fact that there were no seats left at mid-day and no standing room by 1.30pm., people were still coming through the gates at 2.30pm. The overcrowding that existed before the fences were stormed must never be allowed to occur again because next time someone could be killed in the crush. Once capacity is reached the gates should be closed.

This is the riff that was once called “the dirtiest, sexiest riff around.” Who was this commentator? None other than Slash of Guns N’ Roses fame, who might just know a thing or two about great riffs. The song is one of the more complicated riffs in the band’s catalog, and surprisingly is not written by Jimmy Page (although he still had a hand in writing the song as a whole). The riffs author was actually John Paul Jones, who wrote the riff after listening to Muddy Waters’ Electric Mud LP.

    Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day
    September 13, 2012

Audio And Video From Legendary 2007 Concert

To Be Available In Multiple Configurations On November 19

Concert Slated For Global Theatrical Release On October 17

(Los Angeles, Sept. 13, 2012) – On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin took the stage at London’s O2 Arena to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.

What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band’s signature blues-infused rock ’n’ roll that instantly became part of the legend of Led Zeppelin.

Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalog including landmark tracks “Whole Lotta Love,” “Rock And Roll,” “Kashmir,” and “Stairway To Heaven.”

Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band’s first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.

The film of Celebration Day will see a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories on October 17.

The theatrical screenings will follow premieres in London, Los Angeles, New York, and other major cities.

Tickets for the public screenings will be available on September 13 via ledzeppelin.com.

Celebration Day will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19 from Swan Song/Atlantic Records.

Specific product details will be announced soon.

Robert Plant along with Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen can be found having a cup of tea with Kingsley the owner of Rockfield Studio at least once a fortnight in the valleys of Wales.

Rockfield is a great place to tour and if your lucky, unlike me when I was one day late, you can bump into some music legends.

"When the Levee Breaks" is a blues song written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The song is in reaction to the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.

Never been a LZ fan, and used to detest this song, over-played, however accept this is a decent cover

    from Bangkok Post:

Heart plays Led Zeppelin’s Stairway To Heaven, makes Robert Plant cry (video)
There have been some mighty horrible renditions of Led Zeppelin‘s Stairway To Heaven, but when Nancy and Ann Wilson of Heart performed the song in front of the three remaining members of the legendary British rock band at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on Dec. 2, it made Robert Plant cry tears of joy. (The band was being honoured by President Barack Obama alongside David Letterman and Dustin Hoffman.)

^ x10. I've got the DVD, and listened to that track on MP3 while driving home an hour ago (loudly). That didn't stop me clicking the link above and watching/listening to it again. Best. Rock. Song. Ever.

Terrific band, one of my favourites of all time, got tickets to see them in
the king's theatre in Edinburgh after queuing all afternoon and all night before
the tickets went on sale the next morning and missing a day at work.
That was back in the early 70 s....Happy days.

My absolute favourite Plant page moment is the Unleaded show when the Indian girl does Battle Of Evermore with them.

Just awesome, beats the original. Going to listen to it now.
