"God gave us reason not religion"
(Origin unknown, but it was seen on a deism.com bumper sticker. I like it because it riles the most intellectually intolerant among us - fundamentalist Muslims, evangelical Christians and Athiests)
"It was founded on the Laws of the Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners.” -- Thomas Jefferson
A Deplorable Bitter Clinger
^I hope that the above was quoted to show how repulsed Jefferson was with religious fanaticism. The following quote by Jefferson is a fair representation of his spiritual beliefs, which could best be described as a form of deism: "I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent."

Sir Winston Churchill

"People of liberal sympathies, stupefied by relativism, have become the apologists for a creedal wave that is racist, misogynist, homophobic, imperialist, and genocidal. To put it another way, they are up the arse of those that want them dead.”
--Martin Amis
Adlai Stevenson:
I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them. [1952]
G. K. Chesterton:
The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected.

Hypocrite: A Socialist who proclaims a belief in fairness" -- Anon
"What can you do against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your argument a fair hearing and then simply persists in his lunacy?" -- George Orwell
Bertrand Russell :
The essence of the Liberal outlook lies not in what opinions are held, but in how they are held: instead of being held dogmatically, they are held tentatively, and with a consciousness that new evidence may at any moment lead to their abandonment.
Deranged Quote of the Day
"I would like to say we're at a point where global warming in impossible to deny. Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future" -- Liberal columnist Ellen Goodman
Some gems from Adolf Hitler-
Universal education is the most corroding and disintegrating poison that liberalism has ever invented for its own destruction.
The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies, but would be ashamed to tell big lies.

The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it.

"The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany." --George W. Bush, D.C., May 5, 2006
Eh? Is this some joke? Germany is more 'democratic' than the US, if that accounts for anything.Originally Posted by Agent_Smith

The Arab street knows full well that we give billions to Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinians and are probably baffled that we don't cut it out. They also know we have just as frequently fought Christians on their behalf as Muslims; they know if their voting feet tell them anything that no place is more tolerant of their religion or more open to immigration than the United States. Yes, (Radical) Islamists all know that opening a mosque in Detroit is one thing, and opening a church in Saudi Arabia is quite another. Hitler wasn't interested in Wilson's 14 Points or how nicely Germans lived in the U.S. he cared only that we "cowboys" would not or could not stop what he was up to. -- Victor Davis Hanson
