The sun came out in the UK for the first time since 2005 (or was it 1976) and the idea of swimming in refreshingly cool water whilst catching some sun made some brief sense, without the risk of bits falling off.
My local is in Cheltenham - the Sandford Park lido. It's a bit of an historic gem, what with councils slashing budgets to pay for translating the benefit forms into Slovak etc.
How many of these places are still left? Are they worth preserving? Or do you prefer swimming in a perspex cage with the chlorine fumes mingling with the unwashed?
