Maybe he doesn't, but that would make him an exception. Religiosity is a defining feature of the right-wing nutters, along with nationalism and idleness.

Of course that's just your personal biased opinion, without a fragment of evidence to back it up I may add and are you trying to say that most successful multi millionaire business people are socialists?

Yeah I'm afraid poor Rainfall makes quite a lot up especially saying those on the right are Idle, it must have slipped his mind that Microsofts Bill Gates who started off in a garage and is now most likely the richest man in the World and employing tens of thousands, is a staunch Republican

You are not a Richard Branson, but a little guy with substandard intellect and a memory that's a catastrophe. Go to the 'arming the Syrian opposition' thread, last page, and see for yourself. You keep doing this sort of gaffes every day. I guess you were for extented periods of your life on the dole, that's why you have a problem with the Paks because they take your job away, and get the welfare you believe are entitled to, born British after all. I know the statistics of what people tend to vote right-wing, the not so bright, undereducated, religious, old, and disenfranchised ones.

Did you know that Branson regards Mandela and Al Gore as role models?

Yes, and did you know that among a certain almost extinct tribe of pygmies, a man of 150cm height was always considered "humongous"?

It's an amazing world out there.

Talking about overt racism. there's no better example than Why Has Paula Deen Been Vilified, While Alec Baldwin’s Been Given a Pass?

His father made his business Empire eh ,any chance of a link? give me a break? ,he built it himself with with his own bare hands with the benefit of a good education, tens of thousands had the same start in life as Branson and finished up on skid row, or in prison, or even a TD poster read the link , anything you care to comment on?http://www.biographyonline.net/peopl...gs-riches.html

These are the facts (for you to completely ignore) about one of the UK's most successful business men , not bad for a high school drop out with no qualifications eh http://www.biography.com/people/richard-branson-9224520

Bransons is not exactly a rags to riches story though is it.
A middle class lad with a good education starts a business (Virgin records) with a 1000 quid loan from his dad.
(A LOT of money in those days.)
Not many with his advantages in life have ended up on skid row or in prison (unless it's for insider trading or some such)

Hi Koojo I would suggest you read the link in my post #313 , Branson had no qualifications and was a high school drop out ,Borrowing a grand means nothing whatsoever ,the important thing is once you borrow that grand its what you do with it that counts , many borrow big money and fritter it away ,Branson made good use of his and now he and the tens of thousands he employs are now reaping the benefits . btw his first venture into capitalism was a students magazine not a record shop that came later

Better than a few paragraphs in a link, I've read his detailed autobiography.
He came from a privaledged background, his is not a 'rags' to riches story.
More a comfortable middle class to riches story
That said, of course he has made a tremendous success of his life, he wasn't born personally rich.

I'm not so impressed by Richard Branson. He didn't create much new wealth, but turned government subsidies, taxes, into his private fortune. He's a rent seeker.

Funny reading some of the comments here, Branson had all sorts of help getting access to EMI's surplus singles stock, which he used to sell from a catalogue printed on one of those old rotary duplicators (I know, I used to buy from him).

Once he got into the retail business proper, he nearly came a cropper (I'm a poet and I didn't know it), when it turned out he was flogging stuff that had been earmarked for export and thus was not taxed. He had to buy his way out of that one.

He also had a huge slice of luck with Mike Oldfield, or the recording business might have gone down the toilet.

However, what he's an expert at is running businesses. He knows how to trim fat, cut costs and deploy business managers who are experts in their field instead of these "generic" career managers who generally know fuck all about a given trade and just deal with bean counters, which is a stupid idea most of the time, especially in retail.

I don't begrudge him what he's done one iota, he employs thousands of people and generates lots of tax revenue in the UK.

Yeah the inland revenue smacked his bottom for 150 grand , but what person has not tried it on with the taxman!

Check out this essay written by a white teacher who teaches at a predominantly black school. It is a sad read and it shows just what the liberals have done to blacks in America...

    It's heavy...

Yeah, well... those of us who actually think about issues and try to understand them a little don't have to Google to know about the history of the Democrats and Republicans.

Why would I read the essay? You and your ilk are the descendants of the KKK suitably modified by your cowardice and the restrictions you suffer from our "PC" climate... given half a chance, y'all'd be back out there growin' strange fruit...
