    Face of South Korea

I like taking portraits of people young and old.
I was going through some of my photos and thought I'd share a few.

Taken at an orphanage in Busan that I often visit. Painting Christmas balls (Nigel may like this one) for fun.

Taken in an instant of an elderly Korean lady waiting for the bus. My friend named this one, 'matching polka dots'.

One of the high school girls from the orphanage. Having just unwrapped her Christmas present.

This was taken in the blue house at the DMZ North/South Korea border. These are North Korea soldiers standing on the North Side.

^^ I think you will find they are South Korean soldiers stationed to stop anyone trying to walk through the door behind them into North Korea ! Though why anyone would want to is beyond me .

^^^They look a bit funny cause they are not the same height. They should get a matching pair for display purposes at photo opportunity venues like the DMZ.

they probably only use the air con 1 month a year at that. there is very rarely discussion between the NK's and the UN/ROK delegation going on in the buildings in Panmunjom and and it gets cold as all get out up there in the winter. The wind just howls through the valley there.

^Thanks SEATraveller, I'll check it out.

@Steve Down Under..you are correct that those soldiers are South Korean. The North Koreans ones were way on the other side of the demarcation line. I could see them standing on the steps of the building across. No photos though.

haha, not quite. This is a mix of pics I've taken in my almost five years in SK (not five consecutively).

At one of the markets. What you can't see is that lady is cooking fish in a frying pan to give to customers to try before they buy. The fish were gross though..dry as feck.

Selling dried fish at this fish stand. Can't say I've ever had the inclination to try dry fish. Raw and cooked are good though. There is a huge fish market in Busan where this picture was taken.

These are games that are on almost every street corner. You can insert a dollar and press a button to try to grab a prize. My friends are addicted because you can get some cool things like lighters and even a hand free bluetooth.

First and only snow fall I saw this year. The snow didn't stay on the ground, but I had to get this pic of a student trying to catch a snowflake. Priceless.

Some students I met on the street. Sweetest kids all around. Too bad for the sun shadow.

I'll post more later. Thanks for viewing a little bit of the Korea that I love.

^I made an error. Have you ever made one?

A few cuties dressed in traditional Korean dress (Hanbok) during sports day. They performed a musical performance.

The picture is blurry as I made it that way, in case kw asks. lol

    Nice photos Miss T.

These are pupils at the school where you teach?

If you were teaching at an Australian school and posted photos of your pupils on a male oriented Thailand expats forum without the knowledge of the parents I think you could end up in a bit of trouble.

Probably not such an issue in Korea/Asia. Although I doubt if many of the male TEFLers in SEA would try the same thing.

    Nice picture
I just saw some of your other photos on another forum, would you have one of these where they are in short sleeves, similar stance but with a chrome helmet?

^Thanks..no, I don't have any that you ask about. All the guards were dressed the same way and didn't crack a smile.

Recently took some pictures at the big Cosplay convention in Busan. Many Koreans and Japanese dressed up in characters from different Anime shows.
