My almost 14-year old daughter's current favorite song is 'Highway to Hell'. I tried to explain to her that it was from AC/DC an Ozzie band back in the late 70's.
Her response was that I knew nothing about music...
I love being a parent.

Great song, great band, good to hear youngsters appreaciate
old fuddy duddy music.
It's a great Song HB My boy 15 year old he stopped with the music & now it girls
Tell her to stick this on and turn up the volume - with the head phones on of course..
Brought her up right, HB; great tunes. I had that on in the car today!
Be happy that she's not blasting Justin Beiber out of her stereo and has good taste in music
Back in Black was better.
"Oh, Dad.....don't you know anything?"
Classic.
good for her, made me smile this post
on their new album only one song seems to resonate - runaway train
Best let her keep thinking you know nothing Hilly. You sure don't want to explain the origin of the band's name.Originally Posted by hillbilly

The high pitched screeching on Highway to Hell is similar to the high pitched screeching heard on most Thai TV drama programmes . listen so to some Thai lady screeching on TV for a few minutes, then go and listen to ACDC screeching for a few minutes .
Neither are for me
Whole lotta Rosie is my favourite, Still wear me AC/DC T-Shirt.
Does that remark come from personal experience?Originally Posted by Butterfly
BONN SCOTT...ferkin legend..bagpipes in a hard rock tune way back then..loved the film clip
Hey Billy, you also need to tell her that they started in the seventies and are still as strong and popular as ever today.
Poor old Bon is banged up in Freo cemetery only 3k away from my gaff, not unusual to see the devotees gathering to pay there respects. They have an entrance devoted to him.
The Bon Scott Gate.
An Ex girl friend of mine was good friends of his parents, they lived in Spearwood just outside Freo.
She told me they had a shit load of his Gold records hanging on there lounge room wall.
I seen AC/DC back in 74 at Freo oval just as they hit the big time, next time was 76 when they supported Suzi Quatro at Beatty park pool here in Perth.
Good memories I have. Might pop in and see Bon on the way home today.
I think AC/DC has now sold more albums that the Beatles, amazing given they don't sell online.
Yes, the Bon Scott statue was debated for ages on where it would be placed, the vast majority wanted it in the park opposite Fremantle train station so it would be viewed by the masses that use that service everyday.
Most tourists use the Train into Freo.
But no, the bloody council went against popular opinion and placed down at the waterfront.
Bunch of wankers.
I might take a picture and post it up, bloody good statue actually.
