so i checked the weather and it seemed there had been a depression knocking about, thats why we had a fair bit of rain, but it was due to clear over the next 24 hours so all good.

i started going to Lanta 20 years ago when it was just red sand roads and the generators were turned of about 11 at night. I always stayed at Lanta Miami or Lanta Paradise down on Klong Nin.Over the last few years there have been many 5 star places built down there and the prices have gone crazy.
The same bungalows I paid 300- 400 bht about 7 yeras ago are now 4000 a night.

Me either, never been there but would like to go for a look see.

Thing is, I'm fuked if I'm paying 1000baht for a bungalow with no A/c or hot water.

Any decent digs in the town mate ?

lanta is really quiet. food is ok, beaches ok but lots of rubbish. it's mainly a couples island to just relax and shag. don't go there alone as there is little nightlife.

Couples and family. Lots of Scandos there. They don't have the street dog problems, scavenging, shitting and barking like many places. Muzzies don't favour dogs much.

Well done for posting the pics and description. However, fucking awful place, and why would anybody actually want to go there?

Parts of Phuket are crap, but there are some places that are decent, and offer far more quality and enjoyment than what you've displayed.

Sad really, I've never been to Lanta, but my perception has been destroyed.
