After much searching and following dead end leads, I have located a supplier of glass near me. There is also one (or 2) in Bangkok that I plan to visit in the near future. So I am now pretty set up to create. Anyone who may have an interest in custom stained glass feel free to contact me.

Now, your man above was much more reasonable but this stained glass business is an expensive one.

We got a quote for the 3 windows from a mob is Aus.

    $2500

    Way over our budget.

Time to spend 25 bucks on some acrylic paint I reckon.

Just re-visiting this thread as my shipment of glass and related materials arrived at my home in CM today. I had put together a large quantity of much needed materials, tools and sundry items on my recent trip to Canada. My little home studio is now all set to get busy in! Savings were significant by importing my own, but it is still not really an 'inexpensive' product. If there is anyone interested in information, please pm me.

PM me about getting together sometime. I live near Lanna Int'l School. I can get the cost down pretty low for very basic designs. My own work tends to be very detailed and time consuming, but I've got plenty of that too.

^ Unfortunately tonnie, the enquiry about the glass is from more than four years ago, and the person enquiring hasn't been on this forum for about a year.

    Welcome to the forum however.

Just keeping things more of a 'hobby' and low key for now. Posts by Tonnie above pretty much sum up what someone might expect in this type of biz. The guy must have a small fortune invested. It's an expensive, relatively, product considering everything must be imported. If a significant opportunity comes along I'll consider options then. Thanks for asking.

New work just installed, 2 windows for a custom Spanish revival style home in Doi Saket. The large 3 panel window is 76x52. Over 1,000 pieces of glass, much fine detail. Not visible, on the back are hand bent support bars following the lead lines so as to be not seen. Mostly American made glass with some very rare Canadian made. A custom steel frame was made as the opening is at 30deg to the window and walls are all a type of soft 'concrete'. A difficult, time consuming installation, took about 20 hours, with a helper for 6 hr.
A second, not as large, window is based on the illustrations of The Cheshire Cat. I don't have good photos yet as I can't get into the area as floors are being finished. Not as originally conceived. It had a full face with a big grin, double plated behind an obscuring glass to give a 'fading out' appearance. The client didn't like, so it was redone mixing the face in with the leaves. It is intended to be barely discernible. The blue bottle has the partly visible label 'Drink Me'. An easier install, but had to bend and laminate wood strip to form front and back stops.
I plan to do a detailed entry, on these windows, in my blog artglassiam.blogspot.com.

just wondering, do you use computer software to design and plan them out Steve, or are you old school?
They look super, you must have great patience.

Some kind of fusion between stained glass and low poly art would be interesting, to take the genre in a fresh direction, away from the over ornate look that a lot of SG work has.

Though not sure how practical it would be, maybe limited by number of colours available or considerations of how time consuming building it is.

Anyway maybe something like these low ploy, turned into the stained glass
