yes, I bought mine from the Egat research centre; that is a panel type which can be pumped through, so there was no need to mount it on the roof

I just built a platform so that the unit was in the sunlight all the time

the one I am selling is the gravity type, which needs mounting above the useage area

You know, if I was in Australia it would be a no brainer but I am not convinced on the quality here. I just have a mental image of seeing water leaking out of a solar unit 2 stories up....Especially when you say you got yours from a "research" centre...

I have had mine working over 2 years with no problems

you can buy Aussie ones here but they tend to be more expensive

and, as I said, the panel type doesn't need to be mounted on the roof

can be anywhere the sun shines, you can make up a wall bracket on a south facing wall, for instance

Actually, the roof I would put a solar unit on has quite good access.

Yeah, I guess it is worthy of consideration....definately cheap hot water with instantaneous gas and I have the spot outside to mount....

mine last a month in Portugal, in similar temps, and cost over B800

so expensive unless bottled gas is cheaper here

I have a 100 liter Ferroli mounted in the attic. Not sure makes a big difference but thought why not take advantage of the heat in attic. I have 2 showers and a bathtub. Have never run out of hot water. I have not computed cost of electric nor considered saving the planet. I purchased at Global House in Roiet.

Once a week whether I need it or not.

The wife and 2 grand kids shower 3 to 4 times a day. Have hot water at 4 faucets as well.

A 15kg bottle of LPG gas is 300 baht here.

A Stebel Electron immersion heater will cost 300 baht per month to run just to maintain the water temperature.
As soon as you actually use some hot water the cost increases.

I've been thinking about this and actually reckon gas is the go. Mounted outside with a big bottle and also plumb a line over to the kitchen for cooking. have a spare bottle next to it and swap them out as needed.

thing is, I haven't noticed any for sale here in CM...Mind you, I haven't been looking.

I did mention last year I wanted to sell them on here, and sold one to an intelligent member

the other was not sold at that time

Last week I advertised it again, but in the local news ads and got a lot of interest

I am interested in a solar heating system, at the moment my garden hose only holds enough hot water for a 5 minutes shower, plus for the first minute the water is scalding hot

oh well, better buy one then

they are very good
