Man Kills Drinking Buddy In Business Dispute

A drunken quarrel over a bottle-scavenging business resulted in a fatal shooting. A 23-year-old man got infuriated when two men he was drinking with joked about his business offer to hire them as gunmen. He then shot one man to death and tried to kill the other, but his gun ran out of bullets.

CHONBURI – November 17, 2012 [PDN]: at 4:30 a.m., a report of a fatal shooting at a house was received by Pol. Lt. Col.Jirarot Rotphanupat, vice director of suppression division, Sansuk police station; with Pol.Maj.Col.Narongsak Wongkalasin, suppression inspector; and the officer of the shift.

The police went the check the scene at a house in Maneekaew village, Mhuang, Muang, Chonburi. They found the body of the shooting victim and the gunman. The victim was identified as Mr. Anon Niroj, a resident of Nongwa, Muang, Nongbualamphu.

The man who shot him death was the homeowner, identified as Mr. Suwachet Kotchawat, 32 years old. His ID card showed he was a resident of Plutaluang, Sattahip. He surrendered his gun used in a shooting, a .38 caliber pistol.

Because of his drunkenness, Mr. Suwachet spoke incoherently to police about the shooting. Mr. Suwachet said that he lived with his girlfriend in the rented house. He did business as a plastic bottle scavenger to earn a living for himself and his girlfriend, until he was quite wealthy.

Earlier that evening, at about 10 p.m. Mr. Suwachet had made the acquaintance of two men, so he invited them to his house to drink until 4 a.m. While they were drinking and talking, the new aquaintances lampooned Mr. Suwachet about his plastic bottle business.

So Mr. Suwachet got pissed off, and the friendly joking turned into quarreling. Then Mr. Suwachet got so furious, he went into the room of his girlfriend and took out his .38 gun. Then he shot Mr. Anon twice, until he stopped moving and was lying on the floor.

Then he pointed the gun at the other man, Mr. Sayan Kaew-inti, age 29. But the gun was out of bullets, so Mr. Sayan did not die and ran out of the house. Afterwards, Mr. Suwachet was sitting still, and his girlfriend, Ms. Chanathida Jantamool, age 22, came out to hug him, to soothe and calm him down.

But when the police tried to ask what had happened, Mr. Suwachet gave jumbled replies, claiming that the men would have taken away everything he had built up in his business. So he shot one man twice: once in his right ear, with the bullet exiting through his left eye, and in the middle of the chest with his next shot.

Then Mr. Suwachet wanted to shoot the other man, but his gun had run out of bullets. So both men fought to take the gun. Then the other man ran out of the house before the police came.

During his statement to police, the survivor Mr. Sayan described his version of the shooting. He told police that Mr. Suwachet had invited him and Mr. Anon to drink alcohol. So they bought some liquor at Nongmon market and then brought it to the house to drink.

Before the shooting, everybody had already been drunk, so Mr. Suwachet talked about his illegal business, and said that he would hire them to be the gunmen. So the two men replied to Mr. Suwachet jokingly, that if it was true, they would perform the service for him.

This joking nonsense made Mr. Suwachet get furious, so he walked into his girlfriend’s room, and walked back out to where they were drinking, in the center of the room in front of the house. Then he shot Mr. Anon.

In fright Mr. Sayan jumped up to escape as Mr. Suwachet shot Mr. Anon a second time, until his blood pooled on the floor. Then Mr. Suwachet pointed the gun at him, but was out of bullets. So Mr. Sayan jumped up to shove him and snatch away the gun. Then he ran out of the house.

Although Gun ownership or the purchasing of firearms is supposed to be strictly enforced by law ,the brutal truth of the matter is plainly written here in these horrific statistics concerning Thailand, were respect of the law and those who are paid to uphold it means about as much sense as those drinking alcohol in the old prohibition days in the USA Murders with firearms statistics - countries compared - NationMaster Crime

Maybe. I would imagine shooting your partners wouldn't help though.

It's not the guns that are the problem. It's the weak spineless fucks who carry them that is.

........ the problem is a combination of low intelligence, poor judgement, a misguided sense of invincibility, the presence of dominant simian genes and of course, the alcohol.

not by thai standards, especialy if you have regular spots, ie. a construction site you pay to pick up scrap, if somone findes out they pay more to pick up your scrap or you pay them to stay away. this is not just scap plastic, its metal, plastic, paper, glass even wood, anything that somone will buy,and it dosnt matter if somone is there already even if they are family... cash is the first priority.
