    House roof ventilation

I recently stayed at my Thai GF's house in a northern province for the first time. It is a relatively new house with pitched corrugated steel roof. I commented that the roof needed wind powered ventilators (whirly birds) to flush out the hot air. The locals said OH NO that would make it look like a factory.

Has anyone else used these devices on their roofs?

She can see the ventilators would help stop the roof space from being too hot but I don't where start to look for these devices of a domestic size.

Don't forget to insulate the roof with pink batts. Makes a huge difference combined with whirly birds.

After you have done that don't fok around and just Aircon the fuker, friggin need it at certain times of the year.

She wont need it but you will.

    Cheers

I'm thinking of adding a couple of these whirligigs to the house we are building in Nakhom Pathom, but I'm wondering how they handle the tropical rain. I would think the rain would just flood in through there and get down on our ceiling.

    Thanks in advance.

^Have two of them on a house in Miami (tropical paradise). Rain is not a problem.
