Amazing Isle of Man TT vid

This is one of the best short videos I've ever seen that really brings the speed and danger of the TT across:

    Very good vid.

Between 1907 and 2009 there have been 237 deaths during official practices or races on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

spent 30 years of my life racing around the island, (not every day for 30 years)

i miss nothing about the uk, the IoM i miss badley,
the induction moise of an R1 on full chat is a drug,
i have to use an eavel handling wave over hear, o the shame,
if your behind an mu7 with an IoM TT banner across the rear screen give me a toot on the horn.
life is what happens to us while we are making other plans

Basil Keys from Worthing used to race over there in the 50's, I wonder what happens to the boy racer bikes they used, loved the poweful throaty sound they made.

If you like bike racing, and road racing in particular, then this movie/documentary is for you. Absolutely fantastic.

i never rode close to the edge over there, many reasens why, the main one was i never had the balls for it,
had a few wobbles, but never lost it, riders die every year who whent to close to there personal edge, if you can go there thats what makes winners,
its about time guy got some TT wins, just needs a bit of luck

There is no bigger test of balls than the Isle of Man TT- it's too bad the factories won't let MotoGP and SBK riders give it a shot (though it's understandable that it's too big of a risk).

When he was signed with a team? Maybe- I'd be surprised, though- usually they won't risk their investment on such a dangerous race.

"Fogarty broke the lap record at the Isle of Man TT in 1992. His lap at 18 minutes, 18.8 seconds (123.61 mph) on a Yamaha 750cc wasn't broken until seven years later by Jim Moodie from a standing start riding a Honda RC45 in 1999, taking the record to 124.45 mph."

Not going to take anything away from Foggy but I never liked him much after he declared that he would win the 1995 Daytona 200 out rite and bad mouthed Scott Russell. Russell crashed early but was still able to remount and beat foggy.

Seven years is a LONG time to hold a motorsports record (mostly due to equipment advances)- that's pretty much due to the fact that most top riders can't (or won't) ride in the IOM TT- that said, Foggie was pretty bad-ass on the track.

I think that's a bit strong- I wouldn't risk a factory contract and a guarantee of millions of dollars to run on a course with zero run-off and concrete walls in many places just to prove something.

As we can see from what just happened to Simoncelli, it's dangerous at the top level as well.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
